Most trophies won by an Argentina player, Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María lead

Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María are the two most decorated Argentina players of all time.

Messi lifted the Supporters’ Shield with Inter Miami, bringing his tally to 46 career trophies won. Not only is that the most of any Argentine player but the most of any player in football.

Ángel Di María has won 35 career trophies, coming in second all time for Argentina players. In third is Luis González, who won 10 trophies with FC Porto and a total of 31 in his career.

Carlos Tevez is in fourth, one shy with 30 trophies with Franco Armani at 27 trophies.

Four players are tied on 25 career trophies won. Nicolás Otamendi, Javier Mascherano, Esteban Cambiasso and Alfredo Di Stéfano all won 25 trophies each. Here is the list:

Lionel Messi has reached 46 career trophies, the most all time for any player.

Messi continues to break records and win trophies. During Inter Miami’s 2-0 win vs. Columbus Crew, the Argentine scored twice and with the win, Inter Miami were crowned as Supporters’ Shield champions.

The 37 year old has now won six trophies with Argentina, 35 trophies with FC Barcelona, three with Paris Saint-Germain and two with Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi scored twice for Inter Miami in their 3-2 win vs. Columbus and lifting the Supporters’ Shield trophy.

Messi scored two goals in two minutes for Inter Miami, late in the first half. A cross by Jordi Alba found Messi who controlled it and with the ball bouncing, lobbed it over the goalkeeper to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine would score again, moments later. Inter Miami were awarded a free kick and it was Messi who took it and he would score to give Inter Miami the 2-0 lead.

Inter Miami would go on to win 3-2, with Columbus scoring two and Inter Miami adding another goal. The club was awarded the Supporters’ Shield trophy which is given to the team which the most points in the regular season.

Emiliano Martínez had a stand out performance for Aston Villa in their 1-0 win vs. Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Martínez made several saves for Aston Villa to make it two wins out of two in the Champions League, once more, not allowing a goal. A one on one save on Harry Kane, a save from an effort outside of the penalty area and a close range save.

Mac Allister got his first ever Champions League goal, playing in his second Champions League match. With the score at 0-0, Mohamed Salah played a cross into the penalty area which fell to the feet of Mac Allister and the Argentine would score from close range to give Liverpool the 1-0 lead.
