Acuña will not play against Peru on Saturday. According to Gastón Edul, the 32 year old has muscle discomfort and will not be playing in Argentina’s next match.
The aim is for Acuña to be back for the quarter finals. Acuña did not start in Argentina’s 1-0 win vs. Chile on Tuesday but did come on as a substitute.
Alejandro Garnacho and Valentín Carboni could be making their Copa America debuts for Argentina against Peru.
Garnacho and Carboni have yet to play at the 2024 Copa America with Argentina but that could change. According to Gastón Edul, boht players have a lot of chances of making their Copa America debuts with the Argentina national team against Peru on Saturday.
Nicolás Otamendi, Germán Pezzella and Exequiel Palacios would also get minutes in the match.
Emiliano Martínez will not be going to the Olympics and could be replaced by Gerónimo Rulli.
Martínez is likely to miss the Olympics. According to Gastón Edul, it will be difficult for Martínez to go with Argentina.
If he does not go, his replacement will be Gerónimo Rulli should he get authorized. Rulli went to the 2016 Olympics with Argentina.
The Argentina national team has scored three goals at the 2024 Copa America, with two against Canada and one against Chile.

Argentina are likely to play either Ecuador or Mexico in the quarter finals of the Copa America.
The Argentina national team were the first team to secure a quarter final spot at the 2024 Copa America in the United States. A goal by Lautaro Martínez and a 1-0 win vs. Chile secured Argentina a spot and a 1-0 win for Venezuela vs. Mexico in Group B also secured them a spot.
Venezuela are presently on six points and will play the quarter finals with one match left against Jamaica. Venezuela need a draw in that match to secure to place in the group.
Ecuador will play Mexico and should Venezuela get a draw or a win against Jamaica, Argentina will play the winner of Ecuador and Mexico in the quarter finals.
