The Argentina national team are set to announce the World Cup team next week.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has until May 30 to announce his list of 26 players for the World Cup. According to Diario Olé, Scaloni is going to announce the team between Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29, to look at the injuries of some of the players.

Martínez injured his finger during Aston Villa’s warm-up for their Europa League final match against Freiburg. The Argentine stated that he has a broken finger but according to Diario Olé, Martínez has a dislocated finger and there would be no problems for the World Cup.

“I broke a finger in the warmup. Every time I grabbed the ball, it went the other way.”

The Argentine started the match for Aston Villa, winning 3-0 against Freiburg.
