Europa League and Conference League semi final previews: Argentina players

The Europa League and Conference League semi finals begin on Thursday and there are several Argentina players that will be taking part in the matches.

An Argentine player will be winning the Europa League this season with seven players still remaining. Joaquín Correa and Leandro Balerdi and Marseille will host Juan Musso and José Luis Palomino of Atalanta.

Marseille reached the semi finals after a penalty shootout win against Benfica and Atalanta made the semi finals after eliminating Liverpool.

Bundesliga champion in Germany, Exequiel Palacios and Bayer Leverkusen host Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes of AS Roma. Leverkusen eliminated West Ham to get to the semi finals and AS Roma eliminated Milan.

In the Conference League, Aston Villa will be without Emiliano Martínez who is suspended and the injured Emiliano Buendía when they play against Francisco Ortega and Santiago Hezze of Olympiacos. Aston Villa eliminated Lille in a penalty shootout where Martínez stole all the headlines and Olympiacos also won on penalty kicks, eliminating Fenerbahce.

Nicolás González, Lucas Beltrán and Lucas Martínez Quarta will host Club Brugge in the second semi final match. Fiorentina eliminated Viktoria Plzen and Club Brugge eliminated PAOK to reach the semi finals.

In a YouTube live watched by nearly 70,000 people, the launch of a special edition smartphone dedicated to Argentina’s national football team took place in India. The event showcased a device adorned with the iconic blue and white colors, resonating with the passion for Argentine football in the country.

The unveiling introduced the Redmi Note 13 Pro by Xiaomi, a 5G smartphone featuring the distinctive imagery of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) logo, adorned with three stars representing Argentina’s World Cup victories in 1978, 1986, and 2022. Notably, the number 10, symbolic of football legends like Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, enhanced both the device and its packaging.

During the hour-long presentation, the hosts showcased additional accessories, including a sky-blue cable and a 120-watt charger, provided by Xiaomi, an official sponsor since May 2023.

The Argentina Smartphone World Champions Edition is exclusively available in India, and it is priced at 35,000 Indian rupees, approximately 420 US dollars.

Emiliano Martínez underwent medical tests, and the results stated that he does not have a muscle tear on his right leg. He got injured during last Saturday’s match vs. Chelsea and had to be substituted at halftime, with Aston Villa winning by two. The Blues ended up tying the game 2-2.

Dybala started the match for AS Roma and they were awarded a penalty in the second half. With the score at 0-0, it was the Argentine who took it and his effort was low into the bottom corner, scoring to give AS Roma the 1-0 lead.

AS Roma would score one more and Napoli would score two and the match would end in a 2-2 draw. Leandro Paredes was suspended for AS Roma and Gio Simeone was an unused substitute for Napoli, remaining on the bench.
