Alexis Mac Allister named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for March

Alexis Mac Allister has been named the Liverpool Player of the Month for the month of March.

Mac Allister wins another individual award. The Argentine, who won the Premier League Goal of the Month for December has been named Liverpool’s most recent best player.

The 25 year old had three goals and three assists for Liverpool in March. He had one goal and two assists in the Premier League, one goal and one assist in the Europa League and one goal in the FA Cup.

Instrumental in Liverpool fighting for the title this season, Mac Allister spoke to Liverpool’s website about winning the award. Here is what he had to say:

“Thank you very much, it is a nice feeling. And I want to thank the fans for voting for me for this trophy.

“It’s something nice, but at the same time it’s thanks to my teammates because they played an important role.

“There are two moments that I will never forget.

“One is the penalty against Man City in an important game. I had to take the responsibility and I really like to take pens. So that was an important moment.

“And then the assist for Darwin against Nottingham – I think it was special for everyone. So, these two moments.”

The Champions League continues on Friday with Atletico Madrid leading 2-1 on aggregate against Dortmund.

Atletico Madrid take a 2-1 lead going into Germany against Dortmund with Rodrigo De Paul having scored in the first match. Diego Simeone will have Rodrigo De Paul, Ángel Correa and Nahuel Molina for the match.

The other match on Tuesday is Lionel Messi’s former team FC Barcelona taking a 3-2 lead against Paris Saint-Germain, with the second match in Barcelona.

Benjamín Rollheiser scored his first goal with Benfica in their 3-0 win vs. Moreirense.

Rollheiser got his first goal for Benfica after being substituted on in the second half. With Benfica leading 2-0, Gouveia played a cross into the penalty area which found Rollheiser and the Argentine controlled it and his left footed effort made it 3-0 for Benfica.

Ángel Di María was an unused substitute and Nicolás Otamendi was suspended for the match.

Walter Benítez reaches 17 clean sheets with PSV Eindhoven

Walter Benítez started for PSV Eindhoven in their 5-0 win vs. Vitesse and he reached 17 clean sheets this season.

Benítez leads the Eredivisie with 17 clean sheets ahead of Mathew Ryan of AZ Alkmaar who has 11 clean sheets. The Argentine goalkeeper has four clean sheets in his last six matches.

He recently made his Argentina national team debut, starting and playing in the team’s 3-1 win vs. Costa Rica last month.

Gaich scored his first league goal since December, coming on as a substitute for Rizespor. With Rizespor leading 2-0, it was a pass in to Gaich and the Argentine beat his marker inside the penalty area and a right footed finish beat the goalkeeper to give Rizespor the 3-0 lead.

The 25 year old has played 31 out of the 32 league matches for the club, starting in 12 of the matches.
