Argentina in group B with Morocco, Ukraine and AFC team at 2024 Olympics

Argentina are drawn in Group B with Morocco, Ukraine and an AFC team at the 2024 Olympics.

The Argentina U23 team know two of their three opponents for the Olympic games in Paris. Javier Mascherano’s team are in Group B with Morocco, Ukraine and the third best place team from Asia.

Group A consists of France, the United States, the winner of the AFC and CAF playoffs and New Zealand. Group C is with the second best team from Asia, Spain, Egypt and Dominican Republic.

In Group D, it’s the best team from Asia, Paraguay, Mali and Israel. If Argentina win their group, they would play the runner up from Group B and if Argentina finish second in their group, they would face the winner of Group A in the quarter finals.

The games are from July 24 until August 9 in France.

Argentina national team train in Philadelphia

The Argentina national team trained in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni had his players train on Tuesday with everyone available. Most of the team landed on Monday and trained that day, with fans waiting for them to take pictures and videos.

The reigning World champions will play El Salvador on March 22 and will play a second match on March 26 against Costa Rica in Los Angeles.

Ángel Di María speaks on the World Cup, Copa America and Olympic games

Ángel Di María spoke about the World Cup in Qatar, the 2024 Copa America and the Olympic games.

Di María has won every trophy there is to win with the Argentina national team and has scored in every final. The 36 year old spoke in an interview with ESPNF90 about the World Cup final. Here is what he had to say:

“I have watched the final against France several times.

“I won’t lie, if Argentina had not won the World Cup in Qatar, I would not be here now.”

The man for all finals also commented on playing at the 2024 Olympic games.

“Javier (Mascherano) called me. I knew that he was going tro do it, it’s the kind of person he is. The talk was exactly about what I had said in the interviews: It’s the Copa America and it’s over.

The Olympic games are deserved for the guys who managed to qualify. There are a lot of guys here that want to be there like Rodi (Rodrigo De Paul) or Ota (Nicolás Otamendi). They didn’t have the chance to enjoy it.

I was there, I enjoyed it and thank God I was able to win it. That makes me leave the opportunity to another player.”

The Argentina national team trained in Philadelphia ahead of their match against El Salvador.

Argentina national team coach has his players in Philadelphia and held a light training session with the ball on Monday. Enzo Fernández, Nicolás González, Lautaro Martínez, Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martínez were among the last to arrive to the United States and join the team.

Ángel Di María and Nicolás Otamendi also arrived on Monday and took part in the training session. The team will play El Salvador on March 22 in a friendly match.

Exequiel Palacios out of Argentina team due to muscle injury

Exquiel Palacios is out of the Argentina national team due to a muscle injury.

Palacios will be sidelined and will not be playing with the Argentina national team against El Salvador and Costa Rica. The official Argentina account posted on social media that he has a muscle injury and will not be with the team.

Argentina national team coach called up Guido Rodríguez to the team. Lionel Scaloni will be without Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala and Exequiel Palacios due to fitness problems.
