Argentina Club World Cup preview, Ángel Di María, Enzo Fernández, Chelsea and Boca Juniors

Day three of the FIFA Club World Cup has three Argentine players at Benfica against Boca Juniors and two at Chelsea with Enzo Fernández and Aarón Anselmino.

Ángel Di María, Gianluca Prestianni and Nicolás Otamendi will play Boca Juniors on Monday in the Club World Cup. It is the second match in Group C after Bayern Munich won 10-0 against Auckland City.

The first match in Group D is Enzo Fernández and Aarón Anselmino at Chelsea against Los Angeles FC. The other match is Agustín Rossi and Flamengo against Espérance de Tunis.

It would be six Argentina players taking part in the matches on Monday.

Julián Álvarez disallowed goal, Atletico Madrid lose 4-0 vs. PSG at Club World Cup

Julián Álvarez had a goal disallowed as Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid lost 4-0 against Paris Saint-Germain.

Álvarez scored a goal for Atletico Madrid which was later called off due to a foul before the goal but Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are now last place in their group. The reigning Champions League winners took a 2-0 lead before Julián Álvarez scored his goal which was disallowed.

Paris Saint-Germain would score two more goals for the win. Unless one of Botafogo and Seattle Sounders lose by a four goal margin, Atletico Madrid will be in last place in their group going up against Seattle Sounders on Thursday.

Rodrigo De Paul and Giuliano Simeone also started the match for Atletico Madrid while Ángel Correa was brought on as a substitute and Juan Musso was on the bench.

Carlos Tevez scores four goals for World Aid XI vs. England

Carlos Tevez scored four goals for the World Aid XI team against England in a charity match.

Tevez had four goals for the World XI team at Old Trafford which raised £15 million for children’s charity Unicef. England took a 3-0 lead and Tevez received the ball inside the penalty area and would score from close range.

The 41 year old would score his second goal, a run towards the England back line and beat them all to score his team’s second goal of the match. With England leading 4-2, World Aid XI were awarded a free kick.

It was Tevez who took it and scored his third goal and his team’s third goal of the match. England would take a 4-3 lead but once more it was Tevez.

At 4-3, the Argentine would dribble inside the penalty area, beating his marker to score and draw World Aid XI level. Zuu would score their fifth and World Aid XI would get the win.

Argentina Club World Cup preview day 2, 15 players, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, Palmeiras, Botafogo

Day two of the Club World Cup takes place on Sunday and 15 Argentine players could take part in the matches. The opening match of the Club World Cup saw Óscar Ustari make eight saves, one of which was a penalty kick in Inter Miami’s 0-0 draw against Al Ahly.

The first match of day two is Bayern Munich against Auckland City, a match with no Argentine players. The second match is the newly crowned Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

A total of six Argentine players could take part in this match with Juan Musso, Rodrigo De Paul, Ángel Correa, Nahuel Molina, Julián Álvarez and Giuliano Simeone all with Atletico. It is highly unlikely that Musso will play in goal.

Palmeiras of Brazil take on FC Porto with six Argentine players in that match. Agustín Giay, who has been playing at right back and in good form for Palmeiras is part of their team, as is Aníbal Moreno and José Manuel López. FC Porto have Alan Varela, Nehuén Pérez and Tomás Pérez.

In the last match of the day, once more, it is a Brazilian team, this time against a club from MLS. Botafogo with Álvaro Montoro and Alexander Barboza take on Pedro de la Vega and the Seattle Sounders.

A total of 105 Argentine players are taking part in this year’s Club World Cup.

Óscar Ustari saves penalty, makes 8 saves for Inter Miami in 0-0 draw vs. Al Ahly

Óscar Ustari saved a penalty and made eight saves for Inter Miam iin their 0-0 draw against Al Ahly in the Club World Cup.

Ustari was named as the Man of the Match for the Club World Cup opener, making several big saves for Inter Miami. It was Al Ahly who created most of the chances early on in the mastch.

Two one on one saves by the 38 year old kept Al Ahly from scoring. In the first half, Al Ahly were awarded a penalty kick.

The Argentine would save it and save the rebound to keep his clean sheet. He would go on to make several more saves.

Lionel Messi came close to scoring off a free kick but his effort hit the side netting. He would also have an effort on goal from distance which was saved.

Inter Miami play FC Porto on Thursday in their next match.
