  1. United States really wants to draw the global media attention for the upcoming COPA 2024, which is why they have arranged this friendly on their soil and AFA can also profit off the high ticket prices.

Regarding our young players opting for MLS, first Almada and now Redondo! Why these young players can’t wait a bit longer and seek a move to Europe? Instead of going to MLS, it much better if they can secure a move a club to a tier-2 league in Europe. EPL ,La-liga & Seria-a teams are always looking for talent in Dutch, Portuguese, French & German leagues . Recently, Juventus also secured a loan move for Carlos Alcaraz from Southampton and they are playing in Championship. The standard of Soccer is very low in MLS, the concept of defense and possession doesn’t exist. It is all about attack and counter attack! Europe will never consider any player from MLS, they will rather go for players from South American league which is much more demanding, physical and tough.

    • Now Almada is desperate for a move to Europe. To make things complicated Atlanta aren’t willing to sell him; they want to keep him.
Such a shame no single club approached him.
I see fans saying Redondo will improve by learning from Messi and Busquet. It doesn’t work like that and hard truth is MLS is a massive downgrade whether you are playing alongside Messi or not. I hope Equi Fernandez doesn’t make such hasty decision.

Well that’s not entirely true, think Almerion and Taty Castallenos. Still you’re mostly correct in saying that the MLS is where you go to retire and not to garner attention.
Almada going to MLS might’ve been due to his money grubbing agent but Redondo’s case leaves me bewildered, I mean I can’t believe for second that his (seemingly) intelligent father would approve such a dead end move unless Messi called him up himself and asked for Federico. Honestly what a waste of a talented midfielder! Luckily Argentina’s midfield prospects are looking solid so it’s not the end of the world.
