Lionel Messi spoke about Enzo Fernández, Thiago Almada and his current form with PSG.

Messi scored two goals for Argentina in the 3-0 win vs. Honduras. And while the spotlight was on him, there were two players who made their Argentina national team debut.

Thiago Almada of Atlanta United and Enzo Fernández of Benfica both wore the Argentina national team shirt for the first time. Mundo Albiceleste was at the media scrum and here is what Messi had to say about the two players:

“I saw them as very good, they are guys we already know. Who already trained with us in the last call-up. Thiago is very fresh, he is a very fast player and can do a lot one on one. He is very sly, he’s not afraid of anyone.

“Enzo is a player with a lot of personality, has a good foot and I believe they are two spectacular players.”

The Argentine also spoke about his current form for his club.

“I feel good, different from last year and I knew that it would be like that. Last year, as I said, I had a bad time. I arrived (this year) with a different head, more used to the club, to the locker room, to the game, the team mates. I feel very good.

Lionel Messi scored twice, one of which was a chip goal for Argentina in their 3-0 win vs. Honduras.

Messi stole the show the only way he knows how. A great dink pass into Papu Gómez who played a low pass into Lautaro Martínez as Martinez scored to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

A great start for the Copa America and Finalissima champions. The game was getting physical with several tackles by Honduras, one of which was a shoulder and elbow to the face onto Lionel Messi.

Argentina would get a second goal and it would be Messi to score it. Gio Lo Celso was taken down inside the penalty area and Messi sent the goalkeeper the wrong way as he scored.

The second half saw Julián Álvarez being brought on for Lautaro Martínez after Martínez took a tackle to the face in the first half. Thiago Almada and Enzo Fernández making their Argentina national team debuts.

Fans were treated to a goal that they will forever remember. The ball would fall to Lionel Messi from outside of the penalty area and with a first touch, would chip the goalkeeper.

It was a goal no one will soon forget and one that takes Messi to 88 goals with the Argentina national team. Argentina would control the entire game which would end in a 3-0 win.

Scaloni’s Argentina are now undefeated in 34 games.

Cristian Cuti Romero has received his visa for the United States as he will join the Argentina national team.

Cuti Romero is the last player to join the Argentina national team for the September games in the United States. He and Lisandro Martínez were the last two as they were awaiting their visas to be issued.

Lisandro Martínez received his visa a few days ago while Romero stayed in Argentina. He has now been granted his visa and is flying out to join the team for the September games.

Gerónimo Rulli is set to start for Argentina on Friday with Ángel Di María on the bench.

Rulli will be starting for Argentina in place of Emiliano Dibu Martínez against Honduras. Per Gastón Edul, the Villarreal goalkeeper will be starting Friday’s game. Per several reports, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will make a few changes to the starting eleven.

Ángel Di María is also expected to be on the bench for Argentina as Joaquin Correa could get the start with Lionel Messi upfront.
