Juventus are negotiating with PSG for Leandro Paredes.

The Argentine could be joining Ángel Di María at his new club. According to Gastón Edul, negotiations are ongoing and if Juventus can pay 20 million for him, the transfer will happen.

Leandro Paredes wants to get to the World Cup as a starter with his club. Paredes has been linked with a move away from PSG all summer as there were reports that he was one of the players which the club was not looking to keep.

Still only 28 years old, Paredes joined PSG from Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia in 2019 and has won three league titles with the club.

Lionel Messi reached 41 career trophies as he scored for PSG in their 4-0 win vs. FC Nantes and they won the Trophée des Champions.

Messi scored the first goal of the match and his first in a final for PSG. The Argentine received the ball on the edge of the penalty area as he dribbled around the goalkeeper and scored.

The 35 year old played the entire 90 minutes with Leandro Paredes being brought on as a substitute. Messi has now won 41 career titles and has two with PSG.

With the Argentina national team, Messi has won a Copa America, a Finalissima, an U20 World Cup and an Olympic gold medal. At his first club FC Barcelona, he won 10 La Liga titles, 4 Champions League titles, 7 Copa del Rey titles, 8 Supercopa’s, 3 Club World Cup trphies and 3 UEFA Super Cups. With PSG, he has also has one Ligue 1 trophy.

Lisandro Martínez and Alejandro Garnacho started for Manchester United in their 1-1 draw vs. Rayo Vallecano.

Martínez made his Manchester United debut while Garnacho also impressed in the draw. Manchester United coach start the newly signed Martinez alongside Rafael Varane in the heart of the United back line and it was a solid 45 mintues by the Argentine.

Alejandro Garnacho was just as solid offensively for United as he played 73 minutes. The 18 year old has made a case for himself to be included in Erik Ten Hag’s squad next week for the team’s Premier League opener vs. Alexis Mac Allister’s Brighton.

Gonzalo Higuaín scored a hat-trick for Inter Miami in their 4-4 draw vs. FC Cincinnati.

Within 27 minutes, the former Argentina man scored three goals for his team during the first half of the game played in the DRV PNK Stadium. The first one was a free kick golazo as the ball went into the corner of the goal.

In the second one, he dribbled the goalkeeper and then pushed the ball to the back of the net, while he completed the hat-trick by scoring a penalty.

In FC Cincinnati, the Argentine offensive midfielder Luciano Acosta played as captain of his squad. The former Boca Juniors man assisted with a brilliant pass for his team’s second goal.

Javier Mascherano’s Argentina U20 team drew 0-0 vs. Rukh Ukraine in the COTIF tournament.

Mascherano’s opening match as coach of the Argentina U20 team at the COTIF tournament had the same outcome as the opening match at the Toulon tournament in May, a draw. Speaking after the match, here is what Mascherano had to say:

“I think we played a good game, we dominated the opponent but we couldn’t convert the chances we had.”
