Nicolás Tagliafico will remain at Ajax as they refused a loan deal.

Tagliafico had been linked with a move away from Ajax but he will remain at the club. According to César Luis Merlo, FC Barcelona were negotiating to sign him but Ajax did not want a loan deal.

The 29 year old has been with Ajax since 2018 but has since become a back-up.

Manchester City announce Julián Álvarez from River Plate

Julián Álvarez will stay at River Plate on loan until at least July 2022 where he will later join Pep Guardiola’s team. The 22 year old has signed a five and a half year deal with the club.

Txiki Begiristain, the Manchester City director of football, had this to say about the signing:

“Julian is a player we have monitored for some time. He is capable of operating in a number of attacking roles, and we firmly believe he’s one of the best young attacking players in South America.

“I am so happy we have managed to bring him to Manchester City. I really believe we can provide him with the right conditions to fulfil his potential and become a top player.”

Álvarez is presently with the Argentina national team where they will play Colombia in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni held another training session as changes will be made for the World Cup qualifying match against Colombia on Tuesday.

With no Nicolas Tagliafico, Nicolas Otamendi, Rodrigo De Paul and Leandro Paredes who are all suspended, Scaloni will start different players in their place. According to TyC Sports, it’s going to be Gonzalo Montiel who starts in place of Nahuel Molina.

Lisandro Martínez of Ajax retains his place but German Pezzella will be brought in for the suspended Otamendi. Acuna starts for the suspended Tagliafico.

In midfield, Guido Rodriguez has recovered from COVID and will start in place of Leandro Paredes. Gio Lo Celso is back in the eleven while one of Alejandro Papu Gomez and Lucas Ocampos would occupy the other spot in midfield.

Up front, Angel Di Maria keeps his place while it’s between Nicolás González and Paulo Dybala for the other place. Lautaro Martinez keeps his place. Here is the rumored eleven:

Gio Lo Celso refuses Lyon move from Tottenham, prefers Villarreal

Gio Lo Celso has refused to join Lyon from Tottenham and would prefer a move to Villarreal.

Lo Celso is likely on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur as two teams are interested in signing the Argentine. According to Fabrizio Romano, Lo Celso will not join Lyon as the player himself doesn’t want to. He would prefer to join Villarreal in La Liga.

The 25 year old joined Tottenham from Real Betis back in 2020 after having initially joined them on loan. He has previously played both in France and in Spain, with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Betis respectively.

Andrés D’Alessandro at 40 years old scores free kick for Internacional

Andrés D’Alessandro was brought on as a substitute at 40 years of age and scored a free kick for Internacional in their 2-0 win vs. Uniao Frederiquense.

D’Alessandro returned to Inter after playing a year for Nacional and scored a great free kick. With Inter winning 1-0, they were awarded a free kick and it was D’Alessandro who would take it and score.

The Argentine is a legend at the club, spending 12 years with them, winning several trophies, one of which was a Copa Libertadores 12 years ago. Inter currently lead the Gaucho championship.

With the Argentina national team, D’Alessandro was part of the 2004 Olympic team which won gold.
