Angel Correa extends contract with Atletico Madrid

Angel Correa has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid.

Correa has signed on until Atletico Madrid until 2026 as he will continue with the club for another four and a half years. The Argentine played his first match for Atletico back in August 2015 as this contract would keep him with the current league champions for a total of 11 years.

Atletico made the announcement on Tuesday morning after the 26 year old has scored twice for Atletico in their 2-0 win against Rayo.

Ocampos was the hero once more for Sevilla as they got the 3 points and are now five points away from Real Madrid, first in the league. With the score at 0-0, Sevilla had the ball inside the penalty area as Ocampos would receive it and he would score with his left footed shot to give Sevilla the 1-0 lead.

The Argentina has now scored seven goals for Sevilla, five of them in the league.

Argentina could play in Rosario for their World Cup qualifying match

Lionel Messi could be returning home to Rosario to play in Argentina’s final 2022 World Cup qualifying match. Per a report by TyC Sports, there has been some talk about the Argentina national team playing their final World Cup qualifying match at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium, home of Newell’s Old Boys.

If the decision is made to play the match in Rosario, it would be on March 23 against Venezuela. Along with Lionel Messi, it’s coach Lionel Scaloni and Walter Samuel, who is part of the Argentina coaching staff, which would be back in Rosario as the two are former Newell’s players.

Correa got his first two goals of the new year in Atletico’s win. With the score at 0-0, the ball was sent into the penalty area and it was Correa who got to it and scored to give Atletico the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine would make it 2-0 as a low pass was sent into the penalty area which found Correa who scored. The 26 year old is now on six goals in the league this season.

Mac Allister got his first two goals of 2022, making it four goals in the season for him. The first goal saw Mac Allister playing the ball out wide as the ball was crossed inside the penalty area and that pass found Mac Allister as he hit on the volley to give Brighton the 1-0 lead.

The Argentine’s second goal of the match came from outside of the penalty area. The ball fell to the 23 year old as he struck it first time into the top corner of the goal.
