Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke after his team’s match against Brazil was suspended.

The match between Argentina and Brazil has been suspended with players and coaches unhappy about the decision. Five minutes into the World Cup qualifying match between Argentina and Brazil, there were Brazilian health agents who stormed the pitch and the match was stopped.

Lionel Scaloni spoke about the situation after the match. Here is what he had to say:

“I have to defend my players. If people come in and they wanted to take my players, there’s no chance.

“It makes me very sad. I’m not looking for a culprit. If something happened or did not happen, it was not the time to make that intervention.

“At no time were we notified that they could not play the match. We wanted to play the match, the Brazilian players too.”

Argentina vs. Brazil was suspended just minutes after the start of the match.

With reports prior to the start that four Argentine Premier League based players would not be allowed to take part in their World CUp qualifyign match against Brazil, a decision was taken and three of the four Premier League players started the match.

It was Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Romero and Gio Lo Celso started the match with Emiliano Buendia not making the bench. As the match started, Brazilian health officials stormed the pitch as the match was stopped. The demand is that all four players from the Premier League isolate for 14 days.

The match has since been suspended. A report by TNT Sports states that should the players be banned from playing or the match not take place, Argentina would be awarded the three points. This would be because Brazil would not be complying with what all the South American delegates agreed on and that is that the players would be allowed to play.

The Argentina starting eleven has been confirmed and there are a few changes from the win against Venezuela.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni had named the same starting even which started and won the Copa America. Cristian Romero is back in place for Germán Pezzella, Gonzalo Montiel in for Nahuel Molina and Leandeo Paredes for Guido Rodriguez. This is the starting eleven:

Emiliano Martínez; Montiel, Romero, Otamendi, Acuña; Di María, De Paul, Paredes, Lo Celso; Messi and Lautaro Martínez.

Argentina will have all four Premier League players available for their match on Sunday, despite Brazilian orders.

Two hours before the start of the match, Brazilian authorities ordered that Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Romero, Gio Lo Celso and Emiliano Buendia leave the country. Per a press release, the four players did not report that they were in England the last 14 days.

However, all four will be available for the match. An order has been sent to the Brazilian football association stating that if they refuse to allow the players to take part in the match or if the match is called off, Argentina would be awarded the 3 points. This would be because Brazil would not be complying with what all the South American delegates agreed on.

Argentina are back in Brazil after lifting the Copa America trophy as Lionel Messi will be starting.

After receiving a dangerous tackle against Venezuela on Thursday, Lionel Messi is fit to start against Brazil in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier. Per a report by TyC Sports, coach Lionel Scaloni has two doubts remaining in his starting eleven. It would be a very similar eleven which started the Copa America final.

Per the report, it’s between Marcos Acuña and Nicolas Tagliafico on the left while the right side would be between Nahuel Molina and Gonzalo Montiel. The match against Venezuela saw Acuña and Molina start. This is the rumored eleven:
