Cristian Romero and Angel Di Maria are both expected to be fit for Argentina’s quarter final match on Saturday.

Both Romero and Di Maria were left out of the Argentina squad for their 4-1 win vs. Bolivia on Monday due to fitness issues. Per reports coming out of Argentina, both will be available for Saturday’s quarter final match.

Di Maria had a knock on his knee which kept him out of the win vs. Bolivia while Romero, who also had a knock to his knee, missed the match.

Argentina play Ecuador on Saturday in a quarter final match of the Copa America.

  1. I was watching at the team that Tata put against Paraguay in which we crushed them 6-1. I really the idea of having someone to help animating the attacks aside Messi. In that role, Pastore had a very good connection with Messi. I believe that Pastore was huge in this team. A player like Papu can give us what Pastore gave in 2015. Although I like Locelso, he is my favorite player in this team but Papu should have the edge. My team:
    Emmi
    Molina—–Ota—-Romero—-Acuna
    Depaul————Guido
    Papu
    Messi —– Lautaro —- Gonzalez

  2. For Olympics Spain will be huge favorite… There is so much talent in the 22… Argentina has named just 2 overage player… Its football anyone can won.. hopefully argentina won Olympics and COPA โค๏ธ

  3. I think Scaloni will go most probably
Emi Martinez – Molina Romero Pazella Tagliafico – Paredes Guido Papu Gomez – Messi Lautaro Di Maria

    • no otamendi he will costs penalty. licha or pazella is bestt option. licha is better than otamendi passing speed, accuracy, dribling, tackling, interception forward passes. please out otamendi and parades.

    • same team is ok who are alll played against bolivia. one or two changes is enough
      emi
      molina romero licha acuna
      de paul/dominguwz guido
      A.correa/maria messi papu
      aguero

    • Same situation here. Time to get a lot of work and chores done at home in the time being so I am freed up for the football coming up and have something to do

  4. Definitely want to see Romero and licha Martinez in the back line together, or even try Martinez in defensive midfield and keep Romero in the back, why not??
Martinez tends to run forward a lot of the times for Ajax, might be a good opportunity to try him out in midfield or a duo with Romero in the back..
Still want Nico Gonzalez in the line up. This kid is a must, I see a bright future for this kid in any club he plays.. extremely talented.

    • I shared your idea if playing lisandro in the midfield before Guido played, but now that Guido is so good and trustworthy in the middle (plus adds a lot of height and physicality) I think he is fine. I still think Licha should play with Romero at center back. When regarding the centerback position height isnโ€™t a problem because there is nobody taller thatโ€™s better than him and I think that his ability outweights the physical aspect when regarding that position

      • Barco is a big talent . the move to usa was bad !! the european teams at this time search more for physical Players ( tall Monsters 70 % physical and 30 Technic ) just few Trainers like pep likes the little technical Players. thats why i think Barco has not found that team in Europa who want buy him. i wish that not the same Problem come to Almada โ€ฆ amazing Player but not the type of many big teams Trainers. Would be good to start in Benfica or porto , villareal, Sevilla, Dortmund โ€ฆ not direct to England.

    • Just my opinion:

      – Barco should have probably stayed longer in Argentina, perhaps he could have gotten a better move than MLS
      – Bustos was given a chance but failed to impress
      – Pavon was also given a chance but it was his own subpar performances coupled with Sampaoli’s chaotic tenure. Ibrahimovic once said that Pavon was to good for MLS when they were teammate at L.A. Galaxy.

Bottom line, combination of bad decisions and underwhelming performances. Pavon and Barco are talented but sometimes you need to grab your chances, work hard, stay fit and not be greedy to move too soon.

        • damn, i forgot about that. heres an ESPN article

“Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon was charged with rape in an Argentina court and ordered to give testimony on March 23.

The prosecutor’s office of Alta Gracia, Cordoba, filed formal charges against the Argentina international after a woman reported Pavon to the authorities on Nov. 25.

The alleged incident took place on Nov. 1, 2019, in Pavon’s hometown of Cordoba, and according to the woman, Pavon raped her in a bathroom.

Pavon, who played on loan at LA Galaxy starting in August 2019 until earlier this year when he returned to Boca, last month denied the woman’s allegations.

Pavon, 25, is contracted with the Buenos Aires outfit until June 2022. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on both ankles last month.

Pavon was a member of Argentina’s Under-17 and Under-20 World Cup squad, played at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and was a member of the Albiceleste’s 2018 World Cup squad”

    • i just can tell you that pavon was on lists of european teams. then he decided for USA. Now when i watch the Boca matches, i must say he hasnt the class for big european teams. many time the wrong ideas in important moments of the match. i think thats why many teams not buy him.

    • PAVON BEFORE RETURNING TO BOCA HE WAS GREAT FOR LA GALAXY
BUSTOS IS BACK TO FORM HE HAD A VERY GOOD SEASON I THINK HE WILL GET A CHANCE AFTER COPA BECAUSE MONTIEL HAS NOT CONVINCED ANYONE
BARCO PLAYS ONE MATCH GETS INJURED FOR 1O MATCHES
