Increasing reports that Argentina will be new U20 World Cup host

Reports are continuing to come in that Argentina will be named as the new hosts of the 2023 U20 World Cup.

There are increasing reports in the Argentine media that the country could be named as the new hosts of the tournament today. According to Esteban Edul, there are increasing chances that they will be named as the new hosts and even stating the possible venues.

FIFA president Infantino met with AFA president Claudio Tapia and CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez on Thursday and a confirmation could be made soon. If Argentina are named as hosts, there would be five stadiums for the matches.

The stadiums for the matches would be the Monumental, the Madre De Ciudades, the Mario Kempes stadium and the Malvinas Argentinas. There would be one stadium left and it would be between Racing’s stadium or the Único de La Plata.

Indonesia were removed as the host country by FIFA on Wednesday due to political issues with Israel. If Argentina are named as the new hosts, they will be participating in the tournament.
