Emiliano Martínez spoke about Lionel Messi joining them and the Argentina national team.

The Best goalkeeper in the world spoke to the media after the 3-0 win about Lionel Messi joining the team, despite him not playing. Here is what he had to say:

“There is hunger. It is the same captain that could have went home and he accompanied us, that makes us proud that he continues to feel, continues to love and accompany us in that sense. I am proud to be behind these boys.”

He also spoke about playing at altitude:

“I like challenges and we always look for more with this national team, when we win, we all look for little things to improve.

“I knew what to expect, I saw a lot of national team games here and it was always difficult for them to take shots from outside the area, so I had a lot of respect for them.”

Regarding the Argentina national team:

“It’s like a group of kids going on a field trip and I like to spend time with this team.”

The World Cup winner also commented on the support he got from Bolivia fans:

“Normally, they don’t like me much outside of Argentina but today the Bolivian people surprised me that they chanted my name and I have a lot of respect for this country.”
