Leonardo Balerdi has a muscle tear and the Argentina national team coaching staff will be making a decision.

Balerdi is the latest Argentina national team player with an injury problem. According to Gastón Edul, Balerdi suffered a muscle tear during training on Friday and the Argentina national team coaching staff will be making a decision in the coming hours.

The Argentina national team will play Honduras on Saturday and their first World Cup match is on June 16 against Algeria.

  1. Why are so many players injured? I’ve never seen anything like this before. More importantly, why is Scaloni taking the risk of selecting so many injured players? What I mean is that if both Molina and Montiel are injured, then at least one of them should not have been dropped from the squad in the first place.Paz, Messi, Romero, Emni are essential I understand but what is the meaning of selecting injured Montiel or injured lo celso!

    • Exactly. I’m clueless as well. Rebuilding of side should have happened from much earlier to give them the exposure. Marcos Senesi should be in if Balerdi is unavailable. Also, Balerdi was injured in March as well coz of which he missed out then. He is a good player though. Aging otamendi is a fear I have as well.
