  1. Here people praising nico paz like crazy but whatever little i have seen of him he looked damn underwhelming.what is so special about him??

  2. Some very low IQ people post here and the same NARCASIST doom loopers who can’t even remember there prior EMBARRASING posts and then post more EMBARRASING posts it’s like watching left tards post about trumps coming 525 yr prison sentence wen in reality his becoming president again

    • No politics on this website. Doesn’t matter what side you are on or your beliefs, if you want to bring politics in here, you will be banned and rightfully so.

There are plenty of sites you can share your political beliefs in. You can use those as your outlet.

  3. Relax guys. The line up will change after halftime. Scaloni is buying time for the team to be fully healthy.
In other news, Uruguay players hate Bielsa more than they love winning. They lose this game they are pretty much out and Bielsa can hitchhike home.

  4. Scaloni kept getting saved by Messi. His players selection and line up are always suspect. Now it’s getting worst.

  5. If Almada start our defense will be exposed. This guy is not that good. He was benched in Atletico for a reason.

      • What !!!!!!!!!

Did you see Argentinas game Columbia and brasil last game , what are you sniffing

        • Settle down Jr., obviously I wasn’t talking about Argentina but in case you haven’t noticed, Ecuador who qualified 2nd is nowhere to be seen in this WC, Brazil below Average and Uruguay sweating it out with Cape Verde until they scored.
Same ‘ole story around here, wannabe football coaches everywhere whenever there is a major tournament and Poof gone when it’s over😒🤔

      • Many players from Uruguay seems to be very low with their confidence like Muslera and Ugarte for example. And they are looking way too nervous. Final decission’s are Still bad even now they are leading 2-1 it does not good at all. Maybe they can’t handle the pressure that well and one misstake lead’s to another… Oh my here we go again!

  6. Keeping Almada and Lautaro in the starting Xi even after their clueless show against Algeria baffles me. None pressed Algeria hard. hence, Algeria dominated the first half possession-wise. This time we are meeting a much better opponent with sharp left side play. If our forwards do not thwart attacks on Austria half, they can pose serious threat to a recovering Molina. This time Messi won’t have the space as much as he enjoyed against Algeria. Last year too, Poland kept him bottled well and irritated him so much that he missed a penalty. We need high-pressing upfront. Lautaro must get back his initial day habits where he used to press a lot. Still remember his equalizer against Bolivia in the qualifiers for 2022. It was a fruit from his high pressing run inside the opponent box.

    • Lautaro = being cautious with Alvarez’s fitness.

Almada = Scaloni is not known for frequently changing his core lineup. He was one of Argentina’s best players in the qualifiers, and he seems to be trying to regain his rhythm and confidence.

  7. I totally agree with you,I don’t know why scaloni select some young players just ib two friendly games before world cup but select none of them???

  8. No Almada…no no no….that boy is a brainless chicken. I want Barco from starting….that boy will just destroy Austria’s geggen pressing

  9. Not sure if it due to injuries but this whole Almada over players like Paz, Nico, Julian, Buendia, or Soule gives me serious 2006 Pekerman vibes. People remember Pekerman as some genius talent spotter, but the man had Messi on the bench and was giving minutes to fcking Saviola & Julio cruz. Messi had already shown glipmses of his genius at Barca and against Serbia that he was a better finisher than Saviola, Cruz and Tevez at 19, yet Pekerman still preferred the old guards. Tevez missed a 1 on1 agianst Germans in the dying mins which would have sealed the game but couldn’t. Saviola starting as a second striker almost the whole tournament alongside crespo while leo sat was crazy in hindsight.
International football rewards managers who aren’t afraid to trust elite young talent. France won 2018 because they unleashed mbappe. Spain like Barca are letting an 18-year-old Yamal lead their national team. Sometimes you just have to gather some balls and stop overthinking and play the best players.

Hopefully almada proves me wrong, because I will happily eat my words, but so far he’s been bang average for atletico this season and that is showing at the world cup too. Meanwhile, more creative and far better players are sitting there watching from bench or their TVs.

    • 2006 is not same story with present. Don t compare different things. As about Almada fit better for the role is needed in. Alvarez is not 100 % probably or Scaloni don t want to risk him in this stage. As about testing some other players the game against Jordan fit better fo this purpose.

      • I am not saying 2006 and the present are identical. If pekermen had utilized Messi more like France and Spain with Mbappe and Yamal Argentina could have won that World cup.

As for Almada, I don’t really buy the he’s there to congest the midfield argument. Scaloni has traditionally relied on central midfielders for that like against Croatia. Almada isn’t playing as a CM, he’s playing in an attacking role where he’s expected to press, link up, and create chances while also tracking back when needed.

But based on what we’ve seen in the last game and the two friendlies, Almada has been bang average. Lautaro barely received any service from him, and I honestly struggle to remember a single clear chance Almada created instead wasted chances. Happy to be proven wrong, but so far his performances haven’t justified the selection. If he doesn’t impress against Austria he may not play after that. Also Paz can play the exact same role and position Almada is playing if needed. He has played as a left forward/ attacking mid several times for Como this season.

        • Paz never plays inverted winger LWF from the left, only 10 or RWF, he’s left footed. From the current pool only Almada, Nico Gonzalez and maybe Barco are suited to play LWF, but the latter two are left footed, so they would play differently in that role.

  10. Actually this game is critical so no testing is recomended. Winning means secure 1st place of group and make tests free against Jordan while waiting Uruguay in next round. (i hope no surprices to play Spain so early )

    • Yes no time to test yet against Austria. Avoiding Spain in next round will be good thing go start the knockouts.

    • Lautaro = being cautious with Alvarez’s fitness.

Almada = Scaloni is not known for frequently changing his core lineup. He was one of Argentina’s best players in the qualifiers, and he seems to be trying to regain his rhythm and confidence.

  11. Almada did not play that well, but in Scaloni’s system of congested, narrow midfield, he is needed to keep the ball and play through the middle. Nico is most effective as an impact sub, even when healthy, but as other have said, him and Alvarez are not even 100% match fit. It is a privilege to be able to bring players of their caliber off the bench.

  12. why almeda ?? If nico is not 100% Fit than lo celso is the best choice. Againest physical team almada is nothing..!!

  13. So basically the same team vs Algeria except Molina. I understand not tinkering with the winning team, but I would just like Alvarez to start. Almada also combines better with Alvarez. I guess he is still not 100 percent and coaching team will slowly integrate him especially as we are comfortable with the win in the first match.
I am also not overtly worried on the montiel situation, he should be good to go vs Jordan but may still be rested to give some more time. The bigger worry is that Argentina is not producing enough talent at the wing back positions. The coaching staff tried everything from Foyth to kevin Macallister to capaldo to augustin but nobody impressed them enough over a half fit Montiel who himself is quite mediocre. I believe foyth, if not injured would have been selected over Balerdi and he could have covered for a couple of matches till montiel recovered. Hopefully Molina does not get a suspension.
