Emiliano Martínez made a record 11 saves in the World Cup final.

Martínez made World Cup history with the Argentina national team. In Argentina’s 1-0 loss against Spain in the World Cup final, the 11 saves by Martínez were the most saves ever by a goalkeeper in a final of a World Cup.

The Argentine made several key saves, one of which was a free kick in the last kick of regulation. Another was from close range in extra time.
