Emiliano Martínez spoke about his match with the Argentina national team against Egypt at the World Cup.
Martínez conceded two goals in Argentina’s 3-2 win against Egypt, also allowing one goal against Jordan and three goals against Cabo Verde. Speaking to the media after Argentina’s 3-2 win against Egypt, here is what he had to say:
“I think my moment will come.
“I felt a little like I couldn’t help anyone. That feeling of going home without being able to help… I never had that here in the national team.”

That is a worrying statement from your No1 goalkeeper and our second best player of 2022. If that’s genuinely how Dibu feels, then maybe it’s time to hand the gloves over to Musso, who had an outstanding Champions league campaign with Atletico. Argentina is about to play the QF of the world cup, confidence and decisiveness are everything. The national team has to come first, and no player should be guaranteed a starting spot if they don’t feel mentally ready before a WC QF match.
You guys never talk about how good Leandro Paredes is. What a player! That tackle will be iconic. The way he passes the ball is a joy to watch, so elegant. His long cross-field pass to Tagliafico and the cut-back to Álvarez, and the Egyptian goalie made a great save. If it had gone in, it would have been one of the best goals in the World Cup. This is an appreciation comment for Leandro Paredes.
The first goal was clearly a misjudgement on your part. You should have come forward and prevented the header. So you could have done, at least, that much. The second goal was not for you to save. I think you might pick up a few pages from how the English, Colombian and Swiss goalkeepers fared in the matches so far. But no need to lose your heart. You did your bit against Cabo Verde. You saved a scorcher in the dying minutes.
Standing there with your mouth wide open isn’t helping debu either turn up or go to the bench
Stop wasting everyone’s time freezing in the spot lights every match is getting tiring
Nice realization, modesty and humility Dibu 😊 But you realize that does not win you anything right! Hope ‘your moment’ comes soon on field and not saving it for Pens only.
At this rate the entire players need to be changed for the quarter finals of a Damn world cup. In between a World cup really?
Which all players we want to change Dibu, Licha, RDP, Molina, Macca, Enzo. Damn. It doesn’t work like that. You cant entirely field a new set of players in a quarter final of a World cup. Its not a qualifier or friendly. Hope Scaloni and his team somehow figure this out. Hope Dibu’s time also will come to save us.
The best way you can help the team is bench yourself and let Musso start, having you in goal is like playing without GK.
Bingo the entire back line are like chess peace’s on a board frozen
With all due respect to Emiliano, the goalkeeper is like any other player shouldn’t be immune to being benched. After the performance of the last three matches, it’s time to give the gloves to Musso, at least he wouldn’t let a stupid strike from Jordanian player to hit the net. Period.
I am still not sure if I want to blame Dibu for any goal or not. So far I am giving him the benefit of doubt, but I still feel like he needs to save some sure goals. After all, he is Dibu, right?
There are so many star players that I am pointing my fingers that it is crazy –
– Dibu: Hopefully he is saving his best for the final, but bruh we need you to save our ass sometimes.
– Licha: I know he is very good in buildup, but he ate at least 2 goals himself. Egypt’s first goal, and Cape Verde’s first goal shouldn’t have happened. Senesi is taller than Licha but worse in the air, which is hard to believe but true.
– Macalister: Just show up bro. We are all waiting for you you to do the absolute bare minimum.
– De Paul: He needs to realize soon that this aint Inter Miami and MLS. Completely disappeared after the first 60 minutes against Algeria.
For Argentina to win this world cup, we will need these guys to get their heads out from their asses and start playing.
He stood there like a frozen rabbit in a Ferraris headlights every time the goal was threatened
