David Abraham of Eintracht could receive Argentina national team call

Argentina defender David Abraham of Eintracht could get called-up to the national team for the October friendly games.

Per a report by Fox Sports, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has been keeping tabs on the Eintracht defender. Argentina will play Germany in a friendly game in October and something which could play to Abraham’s advantage is that he presently plays in Germany.

David Abraham, 33 years old, was part of the Argentina U20 team which won the 2005 FIFA World Cup. He played alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero who are presently both still part of the squad.

Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria are the only two Argentine’s out of the 28 which have lifted the Champions League trophy. Messi won it in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015 being the fourth time. Angel Di Maria was instrumental in Real Madrid winning it in 2014, his only time winning the tournament.

Group B has the most Argentine players with six in total. Group E is the only group in the entire tournament which does not have a single Argentine representative. The rest all have at least three. Here are the groups, teams and players.

Dario Benedetto scored twice for Olympique Marseille in their 4-3 win vs. Marseille.

Benedetto brought his tally to four goals in five games for new club Marseille. With Monaco leading 2-0, Bendetto cut their lead in half. A low cross sent into the penalty area found the foot of Dario Benedetto and his left footed shot beat the goalkeeper.

With Marseille ultimately leading 3-2, Benedetto would double make it 4-2 as another left footed strike but more difficult than the first extended Marseille’s lead.

Giovanni Simeone scored for Cagliari in their 3-1 win vs. Parma.

The Argentine striker scored his first goal for his new club in their come from behind win. With Cagliari winning 2-1, Simeone would score his first goal and confirm the victory.

Simeone would steal the ball from midfield and run straight towards Parma’s back line. A right footed shot from outside of the penalty area would beat the goalkeeper.

Rodrigo Palacio at 37 years of age scores, assists for Bologna in win vs. Brescia

A 37 year old Rodrigo Palacio turned back the clock and scored for Bologna in their 4-3 win against Brescia.

With Brescia leading 3-1, it was Rodrigo Palacio who stepped up and provided a goal and an assist for their come back win.

Rodrigo Palacio was at the end of a low cross sent in as the former Boca Juniors man tapped in from close range. It was his 82nd goal in Serie A.

Palacio would play provider on Bologna’s third goal. A cross sent in found the head of Palacio and his header towards goal came off a Brescia player for the own goal.

His night was not over just yet. Rodrigo Palacio sent in a cross from the edge of the penalty area which found Riccardo Orsolini and his left footed effort gave Bologna the win.
