PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for COVID-19.

Pochettino will enter isolation as the club announced on Friday that he has tested positive. His assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D’Agostino will be at the helm for PSG’s match vs. Angers on Saturday.

Mauro Icardi scored for PSG in their 2-1 Trophée des Champions win vs. Marseille.

Icardi made it two goals in his last two matches for PSG as he, along with Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and new coach Mauricio Pochettino lifted the trophy. One Argentine was going to lift the Trophée des Champions one way or another as Marseille also had Leonardo Balerdi and Dario Benedetto on the bench. It was the Argentine who opened the scoring as Icardi would give PSG the 1-0 lead with a finish from close range.

Maurio Pochettino won his first piece of silverware in his 12 year managerial career with the win. The former Espanyol, Southampton and Tottenham man was announced as new coach of PSG earlier this month. This is the fourth Trophée des Champions for Angel Di Maria, the second for Leandro Paredes and the first for Icardi himself.

Paulo Dybala to miss 15-20 days for Juventus due to injury

Paulo Dybala is injured and will miss 15-20 days for Juventus.

Dybala, who had to be substituted out for Juventus during their 3-1 win vs. Sassuolo, has suffered “a low-grade lesion of the medial collateral ligament of the left knee.” This would mean that he would miss the rest of January. This per the official Juventus website:

“Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala underwent diagnostic tests at J|Medical this morning, which revealed a low-grade lesion of the medial collateral ligament of the left knee with a recovery time of approximately 15/20 days.”

This would mean that Dybala will miss four matches for Juventus, one of which would be against Inter on January 16 and the other on January 20 against Napoli in the Supercoppa.

Angel Correa scored for Atletico Marid in their 2-0 win vs. Sevilla.

Correa scored his second goal of the season as Atletico remain top of the league. The Argentine would receive the ball inside the penalty area as he would turn and his shot would roll into the bottom of the net.

Diego Simeone’s men lead La Liga and are four points ahead of Real Madrid with two games in hand.

River Plate will look to overturn a 3-0 deficit as they play Palmeiras in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores.

It was a disappointing first leg defeat as Marcelo Gallardo’s men will want to turn it around to make the final. The second match will be played in Sao Paulo and River will need a miracle if they want to make a third consecutive final. Marcelo Gallardo has named his squad for the match:
