Lionel MESSI wins record 5th European golden shoe award

Lionel MESSI received his 5th golden boot award on Tuesday.

For the fifth time in his illustrious career, the Argentina and FC Barcelona man was awarded the European golden boot. The award is given for the top league scorer in the European leagues.

MESSI finished with 34 goals last season, equalling his tally when he first won the award in during the 2009-2010 season.

We are now in December and the first two of three polls in regards to the Argentina national team has already concluded.

Manuel LANZINI’s goal against Italy was voted as the best goal scored by Argentina this year before the 2018 FIFA World Cup. As for the best goal scored by Argentina at the FIFA World Cup, Lionel MESSI’s goal against Nigeria was voted as the best. A total of 10 goals plus an own goal were scored by Argentina after the World Cup.

We will break down these goals into three different categories before finally voting on the Argentina 2018 goal of the year. The first poll included the best goal before the 2018 FIFA World Cup which was voted as Manuel LANZINI’s goal. The second voting was Lionel MESSI’s goal against Nigeria voted as the best. And now we vote on the best goal scored after the World Cup. Once we have the top 3 goals, we will put them to a vote to select the 2018 Argentina Goal of the Year.

Marcos ROJO of Manchester United on Boca Juniors radar

Marcos ROJO of Manchester United is reportedly on the radar of Boca Juniors.

The Argentina defender is being linked to a move to Boca Juniors in January. However, it appears as though the Copa Libertadores finalists are also chasing Walter KANNEMANN of Gremio.

Per reports, Boca would want to sign one of Marcos ROJO or Walter KANNEMANN to help fix their back line. The former Estudiantes man joined the red devils back in 2014 following an impressive FIFA World Cup.

Walter KANNEMANN has been with Gremio since 2016 and while he hasn’t played in Europe, he has impressed in South America.

Cristian PAVON of Boca Juniors being linked to Arsenal

Cristian PAVON of Boca Juniors is being linked to a move to Arsenal.

Per reports in the English media, Arsenal coach Unai EMERY is interested in bringing in the Argentina man to London. The 22 year old could join for a reported fee of €44 million.

PAVON has been previously linked to a move to the gunners and they have resurfaced once more with EMERY in charge.
