Lautaro MARTINEZ is doubtful to make the Argentina team which opens the door for two players.

With Argentina coach Lionel SCALONI expected to announce his squad for next month’s matches today, there are doubts about Lautaro MARTINEZ’s availability for the two games. Per a report by TyC Sports, should the Inter man be unable to make the matches, SCALONI would call-up Lucas ALARIO and Dario BENEDETTO along with Gio SIMEONE and Mauro ICARDI.

Lionel MESSI has been awarded as the UEFA Champions League’s player of the week.

The FC Barcelona and Argentina captain scored a hat trick in his club’s 4-0 win against PSV. One of MESSI’s goals was a lovely free kick but unfortunately it was not nominated for the goal of the week which was ultimately won by Mauro ICARDI.

MESSI beat out James MILNER of Liverpool, Nabil FEKIR of Lyon and Paul POGBA of Manchester United.

The Argentine’s strike for Inter has won the UEFA Champions League goal of the week.

Mauro ICARDI’s first Champions League match resulted in a first goal in the tournament and his strike against Tottenham has been voted as the best goal of the week in the Champions League.

His right footed strike from 20 meters out defeated Ousmane DEMBELE’s goal for Barcelona as well as Mariano DIAZ’s goal for Real Madrid and Renato SANCHES’ goal for Bayern Munich.

Sergio AGUERO renews contract until 2021 with Manchester City

Argentina striker Sergio AGUERO has renewed his contract until 2021 with Manchester City.

The club legend’s previous contract had a termination date of 2020 with the general idea that AGUERO would return to his child hood club Independiente. That welcome home will have a slight delay by one year. Signing his contract and speaking with City TV, here’s what AGUERO had to say:

“My idea was being here for 10 years. I’ve been here for seven years, it’s going to be 10 when the contract expires.”

AGUERO joined from Atletico Madrid for a reported £38 million having coming off a solid performance at the 2011 Copa America with Argentina. He has since scored 204 goals in 209 matches.

Argentines Gonzalo HIGUAIN, BANEGA, OCAMPOS score in Europa League

Gonzalo HIGUAIN, Ever BANEGA, Lucas OCAMPOS and Franco VAZQUEZ all scored for their clubs in the UEFA Europa League.

AC Milan got their UEFA Europa League campaign off with a 1-0 win away from home courtesy of a goal by their number 9 Gonzalo HIGUAIN. The former Juventus man’s shot deflected off of the opposing defender and went passed the goalkeeper.

Ever BANEGA scored twice, one was a fantastic free kick and the other a penalty kick while Franco VAZQUEZ added one himself in Sevilla’s 5-1 win against Standard Liege.

Lucas OCAMPOS scored for Marseille in their 2-1 loss against Eintracht in the UEFA Europa League. With just three minutes on the clock, Argentine Lucas OCAMPOS opened the scoring for Marseille to give them the 1-0 lead.
