AFA doctor on Sergio AGÜERO’s surgery: “It’s worrying”

34

Alarm bells are ringing for the Argentina National Team as Sergio AGÜERO has underwent surgery.

As we reported earlier, Sergio AGÜERO had surgery on his knee and according to an AFA doctor, the recovery for it doesn’t take less than five weeks. Speaking to Radio 10, Homero D’AGOSTINO had this to say:

“That a player gets arthroscopic surgery 60 days before the World Cup is worrying. The recovery demands no less than five weeks.”

However, Sergio AGÜERO’s father was speaking with Radio La Red and stated the following:

“I spoke to him and he’s doing well. It was an emergency surgery. He’ll be out for a month. He got operated on to get to the World Cup without problems. He told me that in 20 days he’d be back in training. I don’t know if he’ll play a match with City.”

Sergio AGUERO has just had surgery on his knee and is set to miss the rest of the season for Manchester City.

AGUERO tweeted earlier on Tuesday that he’s recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

The question now remains on whether or not he’ll be fit to be called up by Jorge SAMPAOLI for the World Cup in Russia. According to Diario Ole reporter Hernan CLAUSE, AGUERO won’t be in action for at least 3-4 weeks which would allow him to recover just in time for the big tournament.

Injury scare for Fabricio BUSTOS of Independiente

It was a worrying scene during the match between Independiente and Boca Juniors, as Fabricio BUSTOS was seen limping off during the game.  Rest assured it was nothing serious as tests revealed on Monday that he only suffered a sprained ankle. After being examined by the club’s doctor, BUSTOS looks fit enough to play in a Copa Libertadores match against Corinthians on Wednesday.

With the World Cup just two months way, BUSTOS is expected to play a key role for Jorge SAMPAOLI. His name is likely to be included in the preliminary list of 35 players which will be announced by SAMPAOLI on May 14.

Javier PASTORE on PSG future: “We’ll see…”

5

Following PSG’s 7-1 win in Ligue 1 against Monaco, Javier PASTORE took to the media to discuss his future at the club.

After rumors that the former Palermo man would leave Paris during the last January transfer market, PASTORE’s recent comments did nothing to calm those rumors. Speaking to Premium Sports, here’s what he had to say:

“This season is more beautiful because we lost the title last time out. This season we’ve had a great campaign. We beat Monaco 7-1 and this win gives us strength to end the season well. We knew that we’d have been crowned champions if we won. We needed to make it happen and we had a great match.

“The result is what it is, but Monaco are still a great team. What I’ll do this summer? I still don’t know. I want to end the season well. We have another cup to win and we’ll give it our all. As for after that, we’ll see…”

In a separate interview following PSG’s 7-1 win, PASTORE said the following:

“It is true that I have won a lot of titles since I arrived here but each is just as wonderful as the last. It is two times more wonderful because we faced Monaco tonight, the previous champion. We were very focused, we knew that if we won tonight, we would win the title… it is never easy to win a title.”

“Does it make me want to stay? Of course, each time we win, we ask ourselves what we need to do. Since I arrived in Paris, the club has changed a lot. Now, I have one year’s contract remaining and I have not yet spoken with the club’s representatives. We will wait for the right moment to have discussions. Right now, we have no clear idea yet.”

As PASTORE himself mentioned, we will see what the future holds for him.
