Exequiel PALACIOS of River Plate has reportedly agreed a move to Real Madrid.

Per reports in the Spanish media, the 20 year old will be joining Santiago SOLARI’s team in the January transfer window. The move is reported to cost €20 million. His agent, Renato CORSI confirmed to Marca that the club have spoken to Madrid.

“The interest of Madrid has been there for a long time, since the U17 World Cup in fact, so it has been more or less three years.

“What we have said to the people at Madrid is that they can buy him but leave him at River for six months. The boy has many possibilities, such as playing in the Copa Libertadores final against Boca and winning would see him get the chance to go to the Club World Cup.

“Having played all of that, he would arrive in Madrid in June and would be there to stay. If he goes in January, he would arrive in the middle of the season and we would prefer to start from the start of the season.”

Sergio ROMERO on Argentina coach SCALONI: “He did a very important change like SABELLA”

18

Argentina goalkeeper Sergio ROMERO has arrived ahead of his country’s two friendly matches this month and spoke about the change which is being done by Lionel SCALONI.

The Manchester United shot stopper commented on how coach SCALONI did not call-up a single player from either Boca Juniors or River Plate. Speaking to the media at the airport, here’s what ROMERO said in regards to Lionel SCALONI and the Argentina team.

“He (Lionel SCALONI) did a very important change like SABELLA”

“I believe that when there are teams that are playing important things, it’s only fair that they (the players) stay with their teams and try to do their best. When you come to the Argentina national team, you have to do things at 100% and if you can’t do that, it’s best that you don’t come.

Because it’s not good to have your mind else where, it hurts everyone else. It hurts the Argentina national team, the club and the player himself. That’s why I am happy because the kids that aren’t coming are taking part in a very important competition.”

Lionel SCALONI now has his entire squad available with Paulo DYBALA, Franco VAZQUEZ, Franco CERVI, Marcos ACUNA, Agustin MARCHESIN, Gabriel MERCADO and Emanuel MAMMANA all being the last players to join the team.
