Some breaking news coming out late Thursday night (early Friday morning in Europe) that Sergio AGUERO has gotten into a car accident.

The Manchester City star was involved in a car accident after attending a Maluma concert in Holland. AGUERO has suffered broken ribs and very early reports have him out for two months. Apparently, one thing which really saved AGUERO was the fact that he had his seat belt on.

Sergio AGUERO was posting pictures and videos throughout the day on his Instagram page hanging out with Maluma and in Amsterdam. It goes without saying that AGUERO will miss Argentina’s upcoming World Cup Qualifying matches. Incredibly sad news and well wishes for AGUERO. Get well soon.

Emiliano RIGONI, HIGUAIN, GOMEZ and MUSACCHIO shine in Europe

Gonzalo HIGUAIN, Alejandro GOMEZ, Emiliano RIGONI and Mateo MUSACCHIO all scored in Europe for their clubs.

The Europa League saw three different Argentinian goalscorers. Beginning in Russia, it was a night to remember for Zenit’s five Argentinian players and a night to forget for Real Sociedad’s Geronimo RULLI. Emiliano RIGONI scored his first goal for his new club in Zenit’s 3-1 victory against Real Sociedad. RIGONI scored the first goal of the match in the 5th minute, a shot from outside the area which RULLI was unable to stop.

The second goal was definitely one which RULLI would like to have back. With a ball played close to his area, RULLI ran out to get it but the ball bounced and went over his head as KOKORIN quickly pounced onto the open net. Sebastian DRIUSSI had a header which hit the cross bar in the first half. All five Argentinians started for Zenit.

It was his first Champions League goal of the season but Gonzalo HIGUAIN is now off the mark. HIGUAIN scored the first in his team’s 2-0 win against Olympiacos. With that win, Juventus are now in second place in Group D behind Lionel MESSI and Javier MASCHERANO’s FC Barcelona after the latter won 0-1 away to Sporting.

Alejandro GOMEZ scored and was voted Man of the Match for Atalanta in their 1-1 draw away to Lyon. The French club took the lead in the 45th minute but Alejandro GOMEZ scored a fantastic free kick to draw level.

Just like Emiliano RIGONI, Mateo MUSACCHIO got his first goal in the Champions League for his new club as AC Milan picked up a 3-2 win against Rijeka. MUSACCHIO scored Milan’s second after puncing onto a free ball in the area and smashing it home.

Xavi HERNANDEZ: “Argentina did not have the luck”

Xavi HERNANDEZ has given his opinion on Lionel MESSI, Javier MASCHERANO and the Argentina National Team.

A World Cup and two time European Cup winner himself, Xavi HERNANDEZ knows a thing or two about winning tournaments. He also knows a thing or two about Lionel MESSI and Javier MASCHERANO after having shared a locker room with them for years. In an interview with TyC Sports, Xavi gave his thoughts on why he thinks Argentina have not won a trophy and even had some strong comments about how MESSI and MASCHERANO might not have enjoyed playing with Argentina. Here’s what he had to say:

“Argentina did not have the luck that is needed for a title to be achieved. They would have to be more united in order to achieve an important trophy.

“When I was in Barcelona, I got the feeling that (Lionel MESSI and Javier MASCHERANO) did not enjoy playing with their national team.”

Xavi on Argentina’s World Cup Qualifying struggles:

“The pressure of having a country qualify to a World Cup, to play well and to win is making Argentina play with urgency. It’s a national team with an incredible history and has a lot of weight and for that reason it complicates things. But if they qualify, they’re a candidate to win the World Cup.”

“I can’t imagine a World Cup without MESSI. The South American qualifiers are like a European tournament, I am sure they will qualify and they will be one of the candidates to win the trophy.

“MESSI has great teammates. MASCHERANO knows him very well and Ever BANEGA is a player that I love.”

“In Argentina, the players who go to the national team are not valued, the qualifiers are terrible, I do not understand the criticism towards them.”

Xavi also spoke about Spain’s success at the 2010 World Cup:

“Barcelona lent the idea of play to Spain. The players’ adaptation to the idea was fundamental.”
