0

Apparently Carlos TEVEZ’s home in San Isidro, Argentina was robbed during the early hours of Monday morning. Police have confirmed the incident.

During the robbery, TEVEZ was busy celebrating his wedding to Vanesa MANSILLA in Uruguay and no one was the incident premise.

This is not first time TEVEZ was suffered due to wave crime back in Argentina. A few months ago his brother was assaulted in Devoto and his dad was kidnapped in Moron.

TEVEZ who recently has agreed to accept a mega deal to join Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua (which would make him the most highly paid footballer in the world) and this news could just speed up the whole process.

Nahuel GUZMAN the hero for Tigres

1

It was intense finish in the Final of the Liga MX between Club America (managed by 1978 World Cup winner and former Mexico & Boca Juniors coach, Ricardo LA VOLPE) and Tigres UANL as the match had to be settle on penalties, following a 2-2 draw on aggregate (both played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg).

The match ended goalless after 90 minutes, resulting in an additional 30 minutes of extra time. Edson ALVAREZ gave America the lead in the 95th minute and looked good to his side a title in their centenary year but Jesus DUANES equalized in the 120th minute; sending the crowd in the Estadio Universitario into ecstasy mode.

Tigres emerged the stronger side in the penalty shoot-out with Nahuel GUZMAN saving the first two kicks from America (one of which was taken by Argentine Silvio ROMERO). Having already converted their first 2 penalties, Guido PIZARRO then made it 3-0 for Tigres.

As a result, Club America was in a must score situation in their third kick (taken by Javier GUEMEZ) but GUZMAN was very much in a GOYCOCHEA meets ROA beastly mode, completed a hat-trick of penalty saves, thus giving the Apertua Liga MX title to Tigres!

Congratulations to GUZMAN, PIZARRO and also to both Ismael SOSA and Lucas ZELARRAYAN (who was on the bench) for this achievement.

Now for the main question, wouldn’t it be a good idea for Edgardo BAUZA to consider GUZMAN as his first choice in goal for Argentina’s next World Cup qualifier?

Gonzalo HIGUAIN: “DYBALA and MESSI are similar”

12

In an interview with Premium Sport, Gonzalo HIGUAIN commented on who he thinks is the best forward of the modern game, the comparisons between MESSI and DYBALA and more.

Regarding the forwards, here’s what HIGUAIN had to say:

“When I was a kid, I followed Italian football and there were lots of great forwards who were playing there like TREZEGUET, BATISTUTA, CRESPO and MONTELLA. But for me, the best of all time is RONALDO (Brazilian). SUAREZ is at a very high level and has gotten even better when you compare him to when he was at Liverpool. LEWANDOWSKI too is strong as is AGUERO. But I like a player who can make me laugh.”

“DYBALA and MESSI are similar. MESSI is the best and he shows that every day but Paulo is still young. He’s 23 years old and he still has his future ahead of him. He has all the characteristics to become one of the best players. He has to be mentally strong. To get to a high level that fast is not easy and it’s not easy to maintain for several years. There will be lots of ups and downs and once has to stay focused and not listen to the criticism or to the praise.”

“Apart from my father, the toughest defender I have faced is PUYOL. When I played against Barcelona, he was unbearable. I’ve been lucky enough to play with three great goalkeepers: CASILLAS, REINA and BUFFON. When I would play against BUFFON it was double the challenge because being able to score a goal against someone like him was extraordinary. I admire him a lot, he still has that same hunger as when he was young.”

3

Mauro ICARDI has reached a number of league goals which surpasses Hernan CRESPO.

At the age of 23, Mauro ICARDI has already managed to score 72 league goals. ICARDI scored 11 goals for Sampdoria (one goal in two matches in his first season and 10 in his second) while he has done better with Inter. The striker’s scoring record looks like this with Inter: Nine goals, 22 goals, 16 and 14 (with half the season gone) which brings him to a total of 72 league goals.

In contrast, here’s how he compares to other playters when they were 23 years old.

Filippo INZAGHI: 2 goals.
Christian VIERI: 7 goals.
Hernan CRESPO: 24 goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo: 69 goals.
Lionel MESSI: 79 goals.

Those are only some names in the game but not bad numbers for the Inter captain.
