Paulo Dybala: “I’ve already told HIGUAIN…”

23

Speaking to the media in Italy, Juventus striker Paulo DYBALA commented on the signing of Gonzalo HIGUAIN to the club.

DYBALA spoke about the competition and even who will take the penalty kicks at the club. Here’s what he had to say:

“I’ve already told Higuain that I will take the first penalty at Juventus.”

“It’s going to be much more difficult for him (HIGUAIN) here at Juve, because there’s a great deal of competition. Hype can be dangerous. The only thing that matters here is winning, but we are ready.”

Pablo ZABALETA to stay at City, DEMICHELIS to Espanyol

1

Pablo ZABALETA has confirmed that he will be staying at Manchester City this season while Martin DEMICHELIS has found a new club.

After rumors that new Manchester City Pep GUARDIOLA would not be counting on ZABALETA for this season, ZABALETA has stated that he will be staying in England. ZABALETA, who was linked to a move to AS Roma, had this to say:

“I don’t know how many times I was away to Italy. It was incredible. Every day there was a new club. I’ve always been away from that because I knew from the first day it was my decision (to stay).”

“I had been told by the new manager that I was part of this squad for this season, so I am more than pleased for this because City was my priority.”

“I know I only have one year left on my contract, so that creates a lot of speculation about my future but I didn’t decide anything before I came back for pre-season to meet the manager and hear from him what was my situation.”

“I am so happy to be part of Manchester City for this season.”

Pablo ZABALETA’s former team mate at Manchester City, Martin DEMICHELIS, saw his contract run to an end at the club. DEMICHELIS is set to join Spanish club Espanyol.

New Argentina National Team coach Edgardo BAUZA is in Barcelona to speak to Lionel MESSI and Javier MASCHERANO. BAUZA commented upon landing in Barcelona. Here’s what he had to say:

“The sensations are good. I’m not here (in Barcelona) to convince MESSI of anything. But Leo can tell me about his frustrations. I can express to MESSI my ideas regarding Argentina so he can feel comfortable and see if he decides to change retirement decision. I am in Barcelona to have chat with MESSI and MASCHERANO. At some point in next 48 hours, we will meet up”

Lisandro MAGALLAN to replace Victor CUESTA

It has been confirmed that Lisandro Magallan will replace Victor Cuesta in the starting lineup for tomorrow’s final group match against Honduras.  Julio Olarticoechea has stated that the match will be played as if it is a final.  Only a win will secure Argentina a spot in the quarterfinals as they are tied in points with Honduras and are down -1 on goal differential.  It should make for a very exciting but nerve-wracking match.

Match schedule:

10 AUG 2016 – 13:00 Local time

Match Prediction – Poll: Argentina vs. Honduras

With one loss and one win under their belt, Argentina play Honduras with everything on the line.

A win is the only thing that can take Argentina to the second round at the Olympics. A draw would take Honduras through due to goal difference (Honduras won their first match 4-3 and loss the second 2-1). A draw is no good for Argentina. With Victor CUESTA suspended due to getting red carded against Algeria, will Argentina pull out a victory or will they leave Rio early?
