Argentina team for September World Cup qualifiers, Alan Velasco of FC Dallas

The Argentina team for the September World Cup qualifiers has been announced with Alan Velasco of FC Dallas included as are more new names.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has announced his list of players for the matches against Ecuador and Bolivia in September and it includes 32 names. Paulo Dybala, Marcos Acuña and Gerónimo Rulli are left out due to injuries.

Gio Lo Celso is also not included in the team, despite not being injured. Franco Armani, who missed the last matches against Australia and Indonesia returns to the team.

Lionel Scaloni has included four U23 players which would be training with the U23 team. Lucas Beltran, newly signed to Fiorentina, left back Lucas Esquivel of Athletico Paranaense and midfielder Bruno Zapelli, also of Athletico Paranaense are called up for the first time.

Alan Velasco of FC Dallas gets the call up and will train with the U23 team. That makes it three MLS players included, along with Lionel Messi and Thiago Almada. Here are the names for those two matches:

Per Gastón Edul, Alan Velasco, Bruno Zapelli, Lucas Beltrán and Lucas Esquivel would train with the U23 Olympic team but that does not mean that they cannot train with the senior team. The U23 Olympic team will be released separately.

Enzo Fernández scored his first goal for Chelsea in their 2-1 win vs. AFC Wimbledon.

Fernández scored the goal which gave Chelsea the win in the EFL Cup. The 22 year old started the match on the bench for Chelsea and he was brought on as a substitute and changed the match.

A clearance by the goalkeeper would take a few deflections and fall to the Argentine and Enzo would strike it from the outside of the penalty area and score to give Chelsea the 2-1 lead.

Lionel Messi’s goal named MLS Goal of the Matchday

Lionel Messi’s goal for Inter Miami against NY Red Bulls was named as the MLS Goal of the Matchday.

Messi has only played in one MLS match, scoring one goal and has already been recognized for it. Major League Soccer announced that his goal, which was created by Messi himself, was the best of the bunch.

The other three goals which were nominated were Saba Lobjanidze, which was assisted by Thiago Almada, Xander Silva and Erik Thommy.

Benjamin Cremaschi has been called up to the United States national team.

Cremaschi has received his first call up to the United States national team for their September matches. Cremaschi is also eligible to play for Argentina since the 18 year old is born to an Argentine family.

There were rumors and many were wondering as to which national team Cremaschi would decide to play for in the future.

Mauro Icardi scores for Galatasaray in their Champions League playoff match vs. Molde.

Icardi continues to score for Galatasaray, this time helping his team qualify for the Champions League. Icardi, who scored a volley in their first leg against Molde, scored once more.

Galatasaray were awarded a penalty and it was the Argentine who took it and scored to give them the 1-0 lead in the match. Molde would draw level in the second half but Galatasaray would score one more goal and qualify for the Champions League.
