Messi started for Inter Miami after missing the Argentina national team’s 1-0 win against Venezuela on Friday. The Argentine scored two goals with Argentina national team players in attendance.

With the score at 0-0, Messi received the ball outside of the penalty area, he cut inside and his effort went into the side of the goal to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead.

At 1-0, Messi crossed the ball deep from midfield to Jordi Alba who received the ball and lobbed the goalkeeper to score Inter Miami’s second goal of the match. Inter Miami would make it 3-0 and there was another goal in the game.

Jordi Alba would cross the ball to Lionel Messi and he would chest it down and scored his second goal of the match.

Inter Miami paid tribute to Jordi Alba after the match as he is retiring at the end of the season.

Argentina U20 national team win 2-0 vs. Mexico at U20 World Cup

Argentina’s U20 team continues its perfect run at the World Cup. With goals from Maher Carrizo and Mateo Silvetti, the Albiceleste defeated Mexico 2–0 in the quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 2007.

Maher Carrizo opened the scoring for Argentina after pouncing on a rebound from the Mexican goalkeeper. Later in the match, substitute Mateo Silvetti, who came on for Sarco in the second half, used his strength to win the ball and fired a powerful shot to make it 2–0 for Argentina.

Under the guidance of Diego Placente, the team once again impressed with its dynamic play and collective strength—hallmarks of their campaign so far. Argentina have now recorded five consecutive victories, ensuring they’ll play all seven matches of the tournament.

Their next challenge will come on Wednesday, when they face Colombia, who beat Spain 3–2 earlier on Saturday.
