Julián Álvarez spoke about Lionel Messi, his season and Manchester City.

Álvarez has landed in Argentina and will begin training with the Argentina national team next week. The 24 year old was asked by the media in Argentina on if he thinks Lionel Messi will continue playing with the Argentina national team. Here is what he had to say:

“Let’s hope so. He will decide until when but hopefully he will. We want him to be there.”

The Argentine was also asked about his season and Manchester City:

“I’m already in my second year. I played a lot of minutes in most of the games this season, especially in the first 6 months and I think I did a good job. I feel adapted to the league and let’s hope that what’s to come will be even better.

“It was a very good season, I think. We won the Premier League, we were in the final of the FA Cup, we competed in the Champions League, I think it was a great season.”

Argentina play two friendly matches in June before the Copa America. Álvarez has been included in the Argentina team for those two matches and the provisional team for the Copa America.

Lionel Messi has four matches remaining in total for Inter Miami and the Argentina national team before the 2024 Copa America.

Messi has two matches left with Inter Miami and two matches for Argentina before the 2024 Copa America in the United States. Messi and Inter Miami host their two final matches before Messi leaves to train with Argentina.

Inter Miami will play Thiago Almada and Atlanta United on Wednesday, May 29 at Chase stadium. Their second match is against St. Louis on June 1, also in Miami.

He will be joining the Argentina national team for June 3 when the team begins training for their two matches before the Copa America. The first match is against Ecuador on June 9 in Chicago, Illinois at Soldier Field.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have enquired about Alan Varela of FC Porto.

Alan Varela won the Portuguese Cup in his first season with FC Porto and he already has clubs asking about him. According to Leo Paradizo, both clubs have enquired about the 22 year old midfielder.

Varela played 30 league matches for FC Porto and all eight of their Champions League games.

Rodrigo De Paul has landed in Argentina and spoke about the national team, the Copa America and Ángel Di María.

De Paul is in Argentina to join the national team which begin training for the two friendly matches against Ecuador and Guatemala. Speaking to the media at the airport, here is what he had to say:

“Expectations are always high. We have to defend what we have done. Since we are the last champions, everyone will want to beat us. We are prepared to face all that.

“We know we are one of the favorites because we are the last World champions and Copa America champions, and because we have Leo (Messi). We are preparing as if it were the first time. We are very excited to bring joy again.”

The 2024 Copa America will also be Ángel Di María’s last tournament with the Argentina national team:

“It is always special for me and for everyone to share with this kind of players. Fide (Ángel Di María) is a friend. We are going to enjoy it a lot. Hopefully everything will go the way he and all of us want it to. They are players who have earned the power to decide how long they want to play and how long they want to play.”

Lautaro Martínez has been named the Serie A Player of the Season.

Martínez was named Serie A MVP for the 2023-2024 season with Inter. The Argentine scored 24 goals in 34 league matches for Inter, eight more than Dušan Vlahović.

His 24 goals helped Intet in winning the league. Lautaro was also named in the Argentina team for the June matches and the provisional Argentina team for the Copa America.
