Enzo Fernández spoke about his goal for the Argentina national team at the World Cup and the team.

Fernández was substituted on for Argentina against Mexico and scored to give Argentina the 2-0 lead. Speaking to the media after the game, here is what he had to say:

“I always dreamed of playing with this shirt and today my dream of scoring a goal in a World Cup came true.

“I am very happy for today’s win, this group deserves it. For everyone of Argentina that came to support us and for those that are at home supporting us, this win is for them.

“This group will represent Argentine’s in the best way. We want to get one more win, which is very important for us.”

Messi had a goal and an assist for Argentina in the 2-0 win and spoke to the media after the game. Being named as the Man of the Match, here is what he had to say:

“It was a difficult match to lift ourselves up because Mexico plays well. We played the first half with a lot of intensity and the second half we were calm and we went back to being ourselves.

“The first game cost us, there were a lot of factors. We knew that today we had to win, that another World Cup was starting for us and we knew how to do it.

“We can’t give up now. We have all the finals to play, we can’t make mistakes.”

Messi got his second goal of the World Cup and Enzo Fernández his first goal in a game that Argentina had to win. In a tense and physical first half, Argentina were unable to create many chances but would turn it around in the second half.

With the game still closed and no opportunities being created by either side, Messi would receive the ball from outside of the penalty area and his left foot would beat Ochoa and he would score to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

The stadium would erupt as Messi would now reach eight World Cup goals. Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni would make several substitutions, with Enzo Fernández coming on.

With the score at 1-0, it was a corner kick for Argentina and Messi would pass it to Enzo Fernández. He would dribble inside the penalty area and a curler of a shot would beat Ochoa and Argentina would lead 2-0 and get the win.

Argentina and Saudi Arabia are on three points each with Poland on four points and Mexico no point.

Lionel Scaloni has made three changes in the back line and two in midfield for the game vs. Mexico. Marcos Acuña starts in place of Nicolás Tagliafico, Lisandro Martínez for Cristian Romero and Gonzalo Montiel starts for Nahuel Molina.
