Premier League Argentine players in pre-season

A few Argentine players took part in matches on Wednesday as part of pre-season with their Premier League clubs.

Julián Álvarez started for Manchester City in their 2-1 win vs. Bayern Munich. The 23 year old did not score but did play the first half before being substituted at half time.

Máximo Perrone was brought on as a substitute in Manchester City’s win, being brought on for Bernardo Silva after 72 minutes.

Cristian Romero started Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-1 win vs. Lion City Sailors. Romero was substituted out at half time as part of several changes.

Giovani Lo Celso scored his second goal in pre-season for Tottenham Hotspur. The ball fell to him in the penalty area and he would score from close range. He was brought on as a substitute at half time.

Lo Celso did not start the match for Tottenham but did get a goal as he continues his great form in pre-season. The Argentine was brought on as a substitute at half time and scored his second goal of pre-season from close range.

Cristian Romero did start for Tottenham but was substituted out at half time as part of the several changes done by the coach.

Lionel Messi two goals, one assist for Inter Miami in 4-0 win vs. Atlanta United

Lionel Messi had two goals and one assist for Inter Miami in their 4-0 win vs. Atlanta United.

Messi scored two goals for Inter Miami as he stole the show in their 4-0 win. The first goal of the match came through a Sergio Busquet assist. The Spaniard played a pass into the Argentine as Messi controlled it and while his initial effort hit the post, Messi got to the rebound and scored.

The Best player in the world would double Inter Miami’s lead. A pass into the penalty area found Messi and he was unmarked, scoring from close range.

He was substituted off in the second half and now has three goals and one assist in two matches for Inter Miami. Mundo Albiceleste was in attendance for the match with videos and pictures of both Lionel Messi and Thiago Almada.

It’s Lionel Messi’s first start with his new club and like every where he goes, every one is watching him. Messi scored a free kick during the warm up and he gave fellow World Cup winner Thiago Almada a hug.

Messi played his first match with his new club on Friday, scoring the free kick match winner against Cruz Azul in a 2-1 win.

Gerardo Martino “It’s very likely that both Messi and Busquets will play longer tomorrow.”

Mundo Albiceleste was at Gerardo Martino’s press conference prior to Inter Miami’s game vs. Atlanta United on Tuesday. “El Tata” could not confirm that Lionel Messi will play from the beginning, but he stated that the idea was to give him more playing time that in his debut last Friday.

“It is very likely that both Messi and Busquets will play longer, even from the beginning. Everything will depend on how they feel. It is just their second game.

“It is also true that when Leo plays from the beginning, he is likely to play the full 90 minutes.

“What was seen of Messi in the game trying to order his teammates, is what he has been doing in the training sessions. He helps and talks about soccer with his teammates.”
