Santiago Ascacíbar is close to joining U.S. Cremonese with medicals expected soon.

Ascacíbar could soon be leaving Germany. According to Sky Sport in Italy, the 25 year old is close to joining newly promoted Serie A team U.S. Cremonese.

The Argentine, presently with Hertha Berlin, has spent the last five years in Germany. Per Luca Bendoni of Gianluca Di Marzio‘s team, the deal is close to being done and Ascacíbar should be arriving in Italy in the next hours to undergo his medicals.

Part of the Estudiantes de la Plata youth team, the defensive midfielder joined Stuttgart back in 2016 and has already played three matches for the Argentina national team.

An agreement has been reached between Gio Simeone to join Napoli.

Gio Simeone is set to be join Napoli on loan with an obligation to buy. Per Pedro Almeida, everything has been agreed between Simeone and Napoli with only an agreement between Hellas Verona and Napoli remaining.

Several reports out of Italy are linking the Argentine to Napoli with Sevilla also reportedly interested. Per the media in Italy, Simeone would be Osimhen’s replacement as Osimhen could be joining Bayern Munich.

Still only 27 years old, Simeone scored 17 goals in 35 league matches last season.

Maxi López is set to become the new owner of Birmingham City.

López and Paul Richardson have started the process to become the new owners of the club. The two spoke on Tuesday to Sky Sports and stated that they have paid the deposit on Monday, submitted the necessary paperwork and are awaiting EFL approval.

The Argentine won the Champions League with FC Barcelona back in 2006 and played for numerous clubs throughout his career, including the likes of River Plate and AC Milan.

Nicolás Castro has joined KRC Genk from Newell’s Old Boys.

Castro is the latest Argentine to make the jump over to Europe. The 21 year old midfielder has put pen to paper on a five year contract, keeping him at the Belgian club until 2027.

He made his senior Newell’s Old Boys debut in 2019, having previously played for the Argentina U17 national team.
