Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni on Paulo Dybala’s exclusion from national team

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has spoken about Paulo Dybala’s exclusion from the team.

Lionel Scaloni did not select Paulo Dybala for the World Cup qualifying matches. Dybala has been struggling with fitness issues and has been left out of the team.

Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Sunday regarding the possible eleven against Ecuador in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier and Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria’s Instagram posts. Regarding Dybala, here is what he had to say:

“He has not had the continuity that we all would like and that means that when he comes here, he is not in the best conditions. In the end, the national team loses because we need them to be well when deciding.

“That doubt does not have to be due to a physical issue but due to an issue that the coach sees. Let him play for his club and make a difference.”

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni on Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María retiring from national team

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke on Sunday at a press conference where he commented on Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María possibly retiring from the national team.

Lionel Scaloni commented on the possible eleven and the players for the match against Ecuador in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier. He also spoke about Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María’s posts on Instagram where about possibly retiring. In regards to Lionel Messi, here is what he had to say:

“After playing in a World Cup, everyone makes assessments. I’m not in the heads of the players to know what they’re thinking. In any case, you have to enjoy it. You don’t have to think about the future, enjoy their spectacular present.

It’s the rule of life and at some point it will happen. It’s useless to think about what will happen after the World Cup.

Scaloni also spoke about Di María’s Instagram post:

“I didn’t see the post but I understood it as being about this team, I would imagine. I spoke with him some time ago. That it’s the decision of the coach (for him to stop playing) and not them that leave us. There is an age for everyone, many trips have passed and matches, which I would imagine is difficult.

I hope he said that about this year. I don’t know what is going on in his head. If it was the last, it could not have been any better. It came out like he would have dreamed it. He put the effort to be there and it’s very difficult that someone else would have played it or been available. He didn’t just play, he had a goal, an assist and he got the ovation from the entire stadium.”

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni talks about the starting XI vs. Ecuador in World Cup qualifier

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Sunday.

Lionel Scaloni commented on the team which will play against Ecuador on Tuesday in the World Cup qualifiers. Speaking to the media, here is what he had to say:

“We are going to train in the afternoon and the idea is to have a few changes. It’s the right time to try out some modifications. I trust Gonzalo Montiel and Julian Alvarez, the kid is popular without a doubt. That they don’t play from the start doesn’t mean that we don’t trust them.

“If you look at the list, the substitutes are there within it. It’s clear for us that the team feels comfortable with three midfielders, one more vertical and two forwards. But not all matches have to be like the one on Friday because the rival will submit or leads you to change.”

Scaloni also spoke about the team and what can be improved:

“There are many things to improve, I don’t think there is a perfect team. You can’t always player well or win. You can’t think that everything is good, there are always things to review and we are there. We have to be prepared to know that a difficult moment may arrive. Now, the wind is pushing us forward but that can go away. And that is when we have to be prepared.”
