Argentina XI, Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez, Nicolás González start in World Cup qualifier

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will start Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez and Nicolas Gonzalez in the World Cup qualifier.

Lionel Scaloni has made a few changes from the 3-0 win vs. Venezuela in the last World Cup qualifying match. Geronimo Rulli starts in place of Franco Armani with Gonzalo Montiel starting for Nahuel Molina.

Lucas Martínez Quarta for Germán Pezzella and Álvarez for Joaquin Correa. Here is the starting eleven:

Rulli; Montiel, Martínez Quarta, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Paredes, Mac Allister; Messi, Álvarez, Nicolás González.

Gerónimo Rulli of Villarreal set to start for Argentina in World Cup qualifier

Gerónimo Rulli of Villarreal is set to start for Argentina against Ecuador in the World Cup qualifier.

Rulli is expected to get his third start for the Argentina national team. According to Hernán Claus, coach Lionel Scaloni will opt for 29 year old Rulli instead of Juan Musso of Atalanta.

The Argentine has played twice for the national team. The first in a 3-0 win vs. GUatemala where he played the entire match. The second match in a 2-0 win vs. Mexico where he played 59 minutes and was substituted for Paulo Gazzaniga.

As we reported earlier, here is the rumored eleven:

Musso or Rulli; Montiel, Pezzella or Martínez Quarta, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Guido, Palacios or Mac Allister; Messi, Julián Álvarez and Nicolás González or Ángel Correa.

Changes in Argentina’s last training session, kick off time for qualifier

Changes were made in Argentinas’s last training session before travelling to Ecuador for the World Cup qualifying match.

Gerónimo Rulli was the goalkeeper in training and with no Emiliano Martinez and Scaloni stating that there could be changes, it would be between Rulli and Juan Musso as the goalkeeper. Per Gastón Edul, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni made several changes in the last training.

Lionel Scaloni made changes not only to the goalkeeper but for the defenders. Lucas Martínez Quarta started in place of Germán Pezzella. This could mean that instead of the rumored Juan Musso and Germán Pezzella starting for Argentina against Ecuador, it could be Rulli and Martínez Quarta.

While being rumored to start on Monday, Ángel Di María no longer looks set to start. It would be either Nicolás González or Ángel Correa with reports in the media leaning more towards Correa starting. Here is the rumored eleven:

Musso or Rulli; Montiel, Pezzella or Martínez Quarta, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Guido, Palacios or Mac Allister; Messi, Julián Álvarez and Nicolás González or Ángel Correa.

Argentina play Ecuador on Tuesday and here are the kick off times:

Gonzalo Montiel, Julián Álvarez, Exequiel Palacios rumored to start for Argentina

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will make several modifications to the team for Tuesday’s match against Ecuador in the World Cup qualifiers.

The team will fly to Ecuador on Monday for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier as coach Lionel Scaloni will hold one last training session on Monday. As we reported on Sunday, Julián Álvarez is expected to start up front with Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.

Juan Musso is set to get the start in place of Franco Armano who started against Venezuela in Friday’s 3-0 win vs. Venezuela at La Bombonera. Per TyC Sports, Gonzalo Montiel is back from suspension and is also rumored to start in place of Nahuel Molina.

Guido Rodriguez is also rumored to start in place of Leandro Paredes with Exequiel Palacios replacing Alexis Mac Allister. If Angel Di Maria cannot start, Lucas Ocampos is expected to replace him. Here is the rumored eleven:
