Mateo Musacchio joins Lazio from AC Milan

Mateo Musacchio has joined Lazio from AC Milan.

Musacchio, now 30 years old, has left Milan to join Lazio in the nation’s capital. Lazio confirmed the move on Tuesday as they tweeted out a picture of the Argentine with the club’s scarf. He has also taken his medical as the club confirmed that on Wednesday.

Per a report by Tuttomercatoweb, he will join on a six month deal with Lazio having the option to renew his contract for two more seasons. He has struggled recently with injuries and has only played two matches this season.

The defender joined Milan back in 2017 from Villarreal and has represented the Argentina national team but has not been included in the squad for several years.

Papu Gomez has left Atalanta after six seasons at the club, spending 10 of the past 11 years in Italy. The Argentine has signed a three and a half year deal, which would keep him with Sevilla until the end of the 2024 season.

Scoring over 50 goals for Atalanta, the 32 year old broke the Serie A assist record last season when he ended with 16 to his name. He joins fellow Argentine players Lucas Ocampos, Marcos Acuna and Franco Vazquez at the club.

Adolfo Gaich is set to join Benevento from CSKA Moscow.

Gaich will reportedly be leaving CSKA Moscow only months after joining them. Per a report AS, Gaich is set to fly out to Italy with his agent.

The Argentine is expected to sign for the next five months on loan and he could also spend next season on loan at the club where Benevento would be able to sign him for a fee in the region of €10-12 million.

Still only 21 years of age, should Gaich join Benevento,, he would be coached by World Cup winning striker Filippo Inzaghi.

Lyon are out of the race to sign Gonzalo Montiel of River Plate.

Montiel won’t be joining Lyon as the club has reportedly decided not to sign him due to his transfer fee. Per a report by TyC Sports, the club could not get the €8.5 million necessary to pay River Plate for the Argentine.

Still only 24 years of age, Montiel has been linked in the past with a move away from Argentina.

Juan Foyth suffers adductor injury for Villarreal

Juan Foyth has suffered an adductor injury which will keep him out for Villarreal.

Foyth has been unlucky with injuries lately. After making the switch over to Villarreal, the Argentine has been consistently getting match time but he has suffered yet another set back.

Villarreal have confirmed that the reason why Foyth did not take part in their 0-0 league match vs. Huesca was due to a myofascial tear in his left adductor. He suffered the injury during their match vs. Granada. While it remains to be seen how many matches he will miss, he is expected to be out for at least 15 days.
