Argentina remainted undefeated in 27 matches after a 0-0 draw vs. Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers.

Lionel Scaloni’s team didn’t create many opportunities but were able to get a draw as they are closer to qualifying for the World Cup. It was Brazil who were creating the chances in the first half with one counter attack which nearly resulted in a goal.

Nicolas Otamendi nearly got red carded after an elbow to the face but the referee went to VAR and the decision was no card. One effort on goal by Rodrigo De Paul was the only threat Argentina provided in the first half.

Scaloni made two changes at half time bringing on Joaquin Correa for Lautaro Martinez and Lisandro Martinez for Leandro Paredes. A yellow card to Cristian Romero but he was substituted off due to an injury as German Pezzella would be brought into the match.

Angel Di Maria was taken out for Julian Alvarez with Nicolas Dominguez on for Gio Lo Celso as the last substitute for Argentina. Lionel Messi had one opportunity on goal but that was saved as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Messi is in the starting eleven, as is Leandro Paredes. Argentina national team coach starts Messi up front with Lautaro Martinez and Angel Di Maria. Leandro Paredes gets the start in place of Guido Rodriguez. Here is the starting eleven:

Emiliano Martinez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Acuña; De Paul, Paredes, Lo Celso; Messi, Lautaro and Di María.

Paulo Dybala along with Martínez Quarta, Almada and Soule do not make the bench.

Argentina will reportedly be awarded the win for their suspended match against Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers.

The match was suspended after only a few minutes when Argentina played Brazil in September’s World Cup qualifying match. According to a report by TNT Sports, it is almost certain that FIFA will award Argentina the three points in December for the match.

Lionel Messi will play for Argentina as he is rumored to be in the starting eleven.

Messi will play as coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed on Monday. Scaloni stated at a press conference on Monday that Lionel Messi would play against Brazil on Tuesday in the World Cup qualifier.

Leandro Paredes is training with the Argentina team and it would be between him or Guido to start. In the backline, it’ll be either Nahuel Molina or Gonzalo Montiel. According to a report by Ole, this is the rumored eleven:

Alejandro Papu Gomez is out of the Argentina team for the match against Brazil.

Papu Gomez announced on his Instagram page that he did not travel with the Argentina team because of a problem in his knee. Gomez was substituted in for Argentina in their 1-0 win vs. Uruguay on Thursday.
