Former Argentina national team coach Alejandro Sabella has passed away.

Alejandro Sabella, who has been hospitalized for two weeks, has passed away, per reports coming out of Argentina. He coached the Argentina national team from 2011-2014, leading the team to the 2014 World Cup final. He would step down as coach following the World Cup.

He won the 2009 Copa Libertadores with Estudiantes and was seconds away from winning the 2009 Club World Cup against Lionel Messi’s legendary FC Barcelona team. Truly no other words at this time.

Former Argentina national team coach Alejandro Sabella is still in the hospital and his condition has reportedly gotten worse.

Alejandro Sabella has been in the hospital for well over a week and per reports out of Argentina, his condition has gotten worse. Per a report by Radio Fonica, Sabella is no longer able to breathe on his own and is now breathing through a tube and a machine.

Still only 66 years old, Sabella stepped down as coach of Argentina following the 2014 World Cup, with one of the reasons reportedly being due to his health.

Messi will try to get Barcelona first spot in the group as his team has been struggling lately. With qualification secured for both teams, Dybala will try to get the win for Juventus after a slight run of poor form lately.

Napoli have renamed their stadium after their greatest ever player, Diego Armando Maradona.

As the football world mourns the death of Maradona, the city of Naples have decided to change the name of their iconic stadium. Previously called the Stadio San Paolo, the Municipality of Naples announced that Napoli’s stadium is now called Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Diego Maradona played at the club from 1984-1991, winning two Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, a UEFA Cup and a Supercoppa Italiana, Maradona became a club legend.

Maradona passing away last week has lead to world wide tributes, from football players to athletes, artists and more.
