Ángel Correa reached 11 goals for Atletico Madrid this season in their 3-0 win vs. Osasuna.

Correa cannot stop scoring as he leads Atletico in goals scored. With Atletico leading 2-0, a pass was played into Correa and with the goalkeeper advancing, the Argentine with a left footed finish gave Atletico the 3-0 lead.

The 26 year old is on 11 goals and four assists in 25 matches in La Liga this season.

Sergio Agüero spoke about the World Cup, the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi and joining FC Barcelona.

Agüero was forced to retire from football in December of 2021 as he had to stop playing due to health reasons. One of the greatest strikers of his generation, Aguero had several memorable moments in every shirt he wore.

Prior to winning the Copa America with the Argentina national team, he left Manchester City and joined FC Barcelona, which would be the last club he would represent. Speaking in an interview with Radio 10 in Argentina, Agüero spoke about several topics. One of which was the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Here is what he had to say:

“I’m going to the World Cup in Qatar. We are going to have a meeting this week. I want to be there. The idea is for me to be incorporated into the coaching staff, I spoke with Scaloni and Tapia.

“The desire to win the World Cup is there. The team is very confident, Lionel Scaloni found the group.”

In regards to joining FC Barcelona from Manchester City:

“I didn’t go to Barcelona for the money, I wanted to play next to Leo (Messi).”

Regarding first meeting Lionel Messi:

“I was with the U17 team and we were training with the U20 and Leo was there. I didn’t know who he was. I started to pay attention and I asked him what his name was. He said Messi. That’s where I met him.”

About Argentina winning the Copa America and Lionel Messi:

“Messi was relieved after the Copa America. It was something we were looking towards for a long time.”

About the French media attacking Lionel Messi:

“How are the French media going to kill Messi, Leo played well. Were they watching the game with their backs turned?”

He also spoke about his son:

“Benja has the stuff of a footballer. He’s right footed, he’s a playmaker. He has a bit of Kun and a bit of Maradona.”

And about being a kid:

“When I was 12 years old, I went to watch Boca Juniors to see Juan Román Riquelme. As a kid, I wanted Javier Saviola’s boots.”

The Argentina national team are planning a small training camp before the World Cup.

Lionel Scaloni could have his players in June ahead of the World Cup in Qatar. According to Gastón Edul, a small training camp in June with 10 or 12 sessions is being worked on. It will be in Europe but it does depend on where the World Cup qualifying match against Brazil will take place.

Argentina have two World Cup qualifying matches in March with one against Brazil expected in June. The qualifier against Brazil is being replayed after the initial match was postponed. As we reported on Thursday, the team is rumored to play Mexico in September with another match against a possible Arab speaking country.

World Cup draw on April 1, FIFA could allow teams to take 26 players

The draw for the FIFA World Cup will take place on April 1 as FIFA are considering expanding the number of players allowed at the World Cup to 26 players.

Argentina will know which group they will be drawn in on April 1 as the draw will be taking place on that day. According to Globoesporte, At the draw, an announcement could be made which would state that teams would be allowed to take 26 players and not 23 to Qatar.

At the Copa America, teams were allowed to take 28 players to Brazil while teams were allowed to select 26 players for the Euro’s.

Lucas Ocampos scored for Sevilla in their 3-1 win vs. Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Ocampos scored his first goal in the Europa League this season as he, along with Marcos Acuña and Alejandro Papu Gómez all started for Sevilla. With the score at 1-1, the ball fell to Ocampos and his volley would give Sevilla the lead.

The Argentine was part of the Argentina national team for the February and March World Cup qualifiers.
