Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes arrive with Argentina team

Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes have landed and are with the Argentina national team.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni now has all 30 players at his disposal, following the arrival of the three PSG players. The first two players who arrived to Venezuela with the coaching staff were Franco Armani and Julian Alvarez. After that came the European based players who landed on Monday.

The Copa America champions will train on Tuesday before training once more on Wednesday prior to playing Venezuela on Thursday. Argentina will then play Brazil in Sao Paulo on Sunday before playing at home vs. Bolivia next Thursday.

Adolfo Gaich has joined SD Huesca who play in the second division in Spain.

Gaich joins on a year long loan deal with the club having the option of buying him as SD Huesca announced the transfer on Monday. Still only 22 years old, Gaich spent last season on loan at Benevento from CSKA Moscow where he scored two goals in 15 matches for the club. He was part of the Argentina Olympic team, leading the attack.

The striker joined CSKA Moscow back in 2020 but has failed to impress and this is now his second loan deal. Should Huesca want to keep Gaich, it would cost them €8 million.

Argentina to have everyone available, players arriving for matches

Argentina will have all 30 players for September’s World Cup qualifiers as players have already started to arrive to the training camp.

The Copa America champions will not have anyone missing, despite several of the top European leagues against the idea. The Premier League first released a statement that they would not be allowing their players to travel with their national teams for September’s World Cup qualifiers.

In addition to the Premier League, La Liga also released a statement, as did Serie A. However, all four Argentine players in the Premier League will take part in the matches. Franco Armani and Julian Alvarez travelled with the Argentina staff to Venezuela on Thursday and are presently in Venezuela, where they will play them on Thursday.

Emiliano Martinez, Emiliano Buendia, Cristian Romero and Gio Lo Celso all travelled and arrived to Venezuela. As we reported yesterday, Aston Villa released a statement regarding Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia. Both would only be available for Argentina’s first two matches in September. They would be able to participate in the match against Venezuela and the match against Brazil but not against Bolivia.

All of the Argentine players called-up to the national team for September’s matches have arrived to Venezuela except for Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes. Because of PSG’s late match on Sunday, the three Copa America winners took a private jet from Paris where they are expected to land on Monday. Lionel Messi makes PSG debut, Angel Di Maria assists in win

Lionel Messi made his long anticipated debut for PSG as Angel Di Maria assisted in the win.

Messi, for the first time in his club career, wore a shirt other than that of FC Barcelona. The greatest player in the world started PSG’s match vs. Reims on the bench, as did Leandro Paredes.

Angel Di Maria started the match and assisted in the first goal. Di Maria, the hero for Argentina in the final of the Copa America, crossed the ball into the penalty area which found Mbappe as he scored to give PSG the 1-0 lead.

With Di Maria on the pitch, Messi was substituted on for Neymar while Leandro Paredes was brought on for Marco Verratti. All three Copa America winners with Argentina were on the pitch at the same time.

Emiliano Martinez, Emiliano Buendia available for two matches for Argentina in September

Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia are both travelling with the Argentina national team but would only be available for two of the three matches.

Martinez had already tweeted out that he is travelling to be with the Argentina team but there was nothing regarding Buendia. Aston Villa have released a statement saying that both players are travelling for the September matches with the club’s permission.

However, both players would only be available for the first two World Cup qualifying matches. That means that they would be able to play against Venezuela and Brazil but would not be available for the third match against Bolivia.

For Argentina, that means 19 of the 30 players called-up to the squad are available.
