The Argentina National Team will reportedly play a friendly match against Iraq in October.
Per a report by TyC Sports, Argentina will no longer play Egypt but will now play Iraq prior to playing Brazil in Saudi Arabia. The confirmation will apparently come within the next day but the match is set to take place on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with the match against Brazil taking place on October 16 in Jeddah.
Iraq are presently in 89th place in the FIFA rankings. They are coached by Srecko KATANEC, who played for Yugoslavia and later went on to play for Slovenia. He was part of the 1990 Yugoslavia squad but did not play the match when Argentina eliminated them on penalties inthat tournament.
Man what a nightmare, my favorite team vs my country. With that being said Iraq aren’t half bad, infact there is some talent within the team and they’d make for a decent warm up before Brazil, although I still would prefer a stronger african team or an asian team like Japan.
Already getting used to the heat? Qatar is still 50 months away. 😉
Now that Argentina are playing Saudi Arabia and Iraq , they should play Israel too.
stupidity from AFA. playing weaker teams all the time
AFA needs money..i don’t see any wrong in playing Iraq or Guatemala or all the middle east countries every month either….
Wait wait…….I hear Pink Floyd in the background MONEY!!!!!!
Damn. Prefer stonger opponent. Like to see our defense against the Egyptian Messi
