Copa America published on its official Youtube channel a moving film of the Copa America 2021 final between Argentina and Brazil. The short video, which was released this Wednesday and is four minutes long, is titled: “The movie of the great final Argentina – Brazil at the Maracanã.”

With suspenseful music, the film starts with the last seconds of the match and the camera on Lionel Messi before the referee’s final whistle. Then, all the Argentina players gather around the captain and celebrate together Argentina’s Copa America title.

Also, we can see Ángel Di María, Argentina’s winning goal scorer, saying some touching words while sitting on the grass, right after the game:

“You have to give your life. When you play with this jersey, you have to give your life. You have to leave everything. It does not matter what happens, it doesn’t matter if you get injured. You have to give your life.

“The joy we all had is something we wanted a long time ago. Argentina has been fighting to achieve it and I think there, they are all now celebrating. That is the only thing that matters to us.”

The movie finishes with some very emotional footage showing Lionel Messi’s hug with Neymar and with coach Lionel Scaloni, and the whole national team lifting Argentina’s captain.

  1. Ezequiel garay formally retires. Lot of our defensive instability from 2015 to 18 cld have been solved if we had him in NT. Will always remain a mystery why he disappeared from NT circle. Also had a bad exit in valencia where he spoke out abt the club management

  2. Up to 4 players were injured but continued to play. I believe there are other players who don’t reach 100%. Real warriors. They give everything.

  3. Some things you cant express in words. Watch “Messi against All Odds”its difficult to explain. This genuinely makes some of us emotional. It cant be expressed in words. We live to enjoy moments like this. Messi, man u deserve this more than any one,Argentina Football fans deserves this. Its a tribute for all of us.

One sentence which striked me while Messi was about to take his Penalty against Colombia “The weight of the whole world is in this mans shoulders” For some reason something came into my mind where in its mentioned in an epic where Gods incarnation is describing to his mortal human friend that “How can u be beatean in this war with me by your side, who is carrying the weight of the whole world in my shoulders”

I hope this Di Maria words would set an example for the younger generation. What it takes to represent the Albiceleste. Romero already followed his example. Hope in the future if we have an injured key player and it is a final game, the injured key player would remember what Di Maria said.

  5. I read Cristian Romero interview with ESPN. He was asked about his possible transfer to EPL with MU and Hotspur interested in him. He did not rule out the move. He basically said that if a big team is interested and it is good for his career and for the national team, then it is fine.

From what I understand, it seems like he doesn’t mind moving to EPL as long as he is guaranteed a starter. With Atalanta really wanna get cash from him, I wouldn’t be surprised if Romero really does move somewhere. If he really has to go to EPL, please not MU (with or without Varane). Even Hotspur is better.

Honestly I don’t see Atalanta attempt to retain Romero at all. It seems like if they have to choose between retaining Romero or get some extra cash, they would choose the second one.

    • Romero should ask Di Maria and Lo Celso about UTD and Spurs. Lamela is a lost cause, he never had the elite mentality. EPL wage has been too good for Lamela.

    • PL football is vicious when it comes to South Americans. They want to prove superiority of their football and talents, so they judge SA players very harshly. You know the fans and pundits.

Just look at different treatment between Pogba and Veron case. Shaw and Rojo. MU treatment of Segio Romero who has been very successful as no 2.

MU is a horrible place for Argentines. Spurs is managed by some lowlifes.

        • yeah but every player wants a bigger salary. I am sire his salary is pretty low in Atalanta. If MU or Hotspur offers him a double in salary, most players would say yes.

          based on this:

          salarysport.com/football/player/cristian-romero/

His salary is merely £31.000/ week. That is very low for the best defender in serie A.

Note: Harry Maguirre making almost €190.000/week or more than 6 times of Romero’s

      • Exactly. Just look how they criticized Forlan & Veron as they were flop of a century.

If its an 20 year old English player scores few goals, they’d claimed they’re future world beater.

Tevez won at MU because he’s a street guy like Diego and criticism never gets into his nerve. When SAF replaced him with Berbatov , he moved to City and beat MU.

    • Palacios is in Basel and getting a decent amount of minutes while showing flairs of potential
Ferreira is at Colon on loan from River and is a little lost because he’s not getting many minutes at colon
Garre is at Racing but I have not seen him play too many games. Maybe he’ll pick up this season

  6. I don’t know about the rest of you but I have enjoyed ARGENTINA winning the COPA America every single day since last Saturday. I came back from my vacation on Monday and have worn a different ARG jersey Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Off), today and I will again tomorrow and I’ve been quietly obnoxious about it ………and whenever somebody would say something smart, I simply point to the AFA Crest on my chest and say, “CHAMPIONS BABY” or “campeón”

My car will be 2 years old at the end of September and the first thing I did the next day was put the Albiceleste stickers on the back window along with my favorite American football team, did the same thing with the car before that and the one before that as well…….you gotta represent.
I, we waited FOREVER for a win and I’m going to enjoy it to the fullest and hope for more and all haters and Christina lovers can kiss my ass.

  7. each player is unique, each player has its unique talent to bloom. comparison maradona and messi .. maradona was bold,, brave than messi .. messi is more silent captain while maradona is the opposite .. now there is people who undermine the talent of luka romero,, saying that he is not messi he is not a big talent blah blah blah.. football can’t be win individual talent it is team effort and when each player shine dominantly then the win comes sometimes there is a big ratio of luck depends… now if you put iniesta, xavi, messi in horizontal line and say who is the great most of the people say messi ,, but there is points where xavi, and iniesta better than messi ,, there is point messi is better than them at the ends in football goals is count,,,
luka romero and messi don’t occupy in same position,, luka plays more like central midfielder while messi is a winger or striker… luka don’t need to be messi to be big things.. he needs to be luka to be big things… messi don’t win world cup while maradona wins it,, also in luka position messi friends xavi, iniesta wins it too…
now luka as 16 years olds.. if pedri shines at 18 years old like mature player in major tournament,,, why luka can’t shine in 17 years old in major tournaments like world cup,,, it is the matter of the playing time and experience…

    • Well then, let’s see if Luka becomes an integral player of Lazio and plays most games as a starter this season. Otherwise there is no justification to take him to the World Cup like there was justification to take Pedri to the Euros. Many are getting ahead of themselves and saying to take him to the world cup, as of now no justification at all. He will certainly play world cups in the future but not in 2022

      • Qatar World Cup would be bit ambitious for Luka. There will be a big IF…if he break out Lazio first team & have stellar performance then maybe he might otherwise no. Scaloni probably will take his main core players from qualifying campaign with 2 or 3 surprises
