Ángel Correa scored for Atletico Madrid in their 2-0 win vs. Almazan.

Correa scored Atletico Madrid’s first goal of the game vs. Almazan in the Copa del Rey. A shot onto the goalkeeper was saved but the Argentien got to the rebound and scored to give Atletico Madrid the 1-0 lead.

The 27 year old is not part of the Argentina team for the 2022 World Cup. He was left out but is a replacement should something happen to one of the players.

Rodrigo De Paul had an assist in the game. It was a one-two as he played a pass to Joao Fellix who scored.

  1. Hi Roy Nemer
Don’t know whether you remember me.
Joined Mundo blog way back in 2010.
Though not active in this group in the last decade, I’m an avid reader of all the news and comments here. Happy to see the vibrant growth and evolution of Mundo over the last decade. This is a nice time for all Argentine fans. Our team is doing well. Messi is as young snd sublime as ever. Hope Qatar 2022 brings us the ultimate glory.

  2. Among 7 players of Copa America who don’t make the squad, he is the most underserved one to leave out. Scaloni should not take too many new ones and leave out the fit, hungry, one of Scaloni’s first warriors like him. I understand the case of others like Aguero, Marcheson, or LM Quarta being left out but not A Correa.

Plus A Correa always had good games in Copa or friendlies. He was clicking with the entire team. He was a nice guy in the dressing room too. Plus he started to be a super sub for Atletico. Totally deserve to go to the World Cup.
