Mauro Icardi scored for PSG in their 2-1 win vs. Lyon.

Icardi came back from injury and scored in injury time to give PSG the win. It was Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria starting with Leandro Paredes and Icardi on the bench.

A free kick by Messi which hit the post would have been his first goal for his new club as he continues to search for a goal in a PSG shirt. Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria would get substituted off with Icardi being brought on and Paredes remaining on the bench.

With the score at 1-1, a cross into the penalty area would find Icardi and he would score with a header to give PSG the 2-1 lead.

Joaquin Correa was substituted off injured for Inter.

Correa, who started for Inter in their 6-1 win vs. Bologna, was substituted off early. A tackle by De Silvestri onto Correa and he was off substituted.

Inter coach Inzaghi spoke about Correa’s injury after the match. Speaking with Inter TV, here is what he had to say about Correa’s injury:

“We cross our fingers, he is doing the examinations in the hospital and we hope it is nothing serious.”

Martinez scored the first goal for Inter as he and Joaquin Correa both started the match. A low cross into the penalty area found Lautaro as he extended his leg and scored early to give Inter the 1-0 lead.

 

Exequiel Palacios injured, will miss World Cup qualifiers for Argentina

Exequiel Palacios is injured and will not be called up for Argentina for October’s World Cup qualifiers.

Palacios, who scored for Bayer Leverkusen in a 2-1 win vs. Ferencvaros, suffered an injury during the match. He had to be substituted off in the second half. Palacios has a ligament injury and is expected to be out for around a month.

Argentina play Paraguay, Uruguay and Peru in October in the World Cup qualifiers. Palacios, who was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America, was also part of the last squad for September’s World Cup qualifying matches.

Palacios scored the first goal of the match, his first goal of the season for Leverkusen in the Europa League. It was a pass towards Palacios who was near the edge of the penalty area and his effort hit the post and went in to draw Leverkusen level.
