Argentina squad to be announced for October World Cup qualifiers

The Argentina squad for October’s World Cup qualifiers is expected to be announced within the next few days.

Copa America champions Argentina will play three matches in October, two home and one away. Their first will be away against Paraguay on October 7, their second match against them in these qualifiers. Their first match finished in a 1-1 draw.

After that, Argentina play Uruguay at home on October 10 at the Monumental. This would be Argentina’s first match against Uruguay in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The third and final match is against Peru, once more at home.

Argentina’s match against Peru would be their second against them in the World Cup qualifiers, their first ending in a 2-0 win.

Coach Lionel Scaloni is expected to name his squad for the matches in the next few days with the opening match fast approaching.

Lanzini got his first goal of the season for West Ham as they eliminated Manchester United from the Carabao Cup. Lanzini started the match for West Ham and scored early.

A low cross into the penalty area took a deflection as the ball fell to Lanzini and the Argentine would hit it first time and score.

Alejandro Papu Gomez scored for Sevilla in their 3-1 win vs. Valencia.

Papu Gomez scored his first goal of the season as Lamela provided the assist. It was Gonzalo Montiel with the long pass into Lamela who gave a through ball over to Papu Gomez as his first touch from the edge of the penalty area gave Sevilla the 1-0 lead. Erik Lamela now has three goals and one assist since joining Sevilla.

Gonzalo Montiel was involved in the second goal as his cross took a bounce off the Valencia player and beat the goalkeeper. In addition to Alejandro Papu Gomez, Erik Lamela and Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Ocampos also started the match.

Lisandro Martinez started the match for Ajax with Tagliafico on the bench. However, Tagliafico was brought on for Martinez in the second half.

Lionel Messi has suffered a knock to the knee and will miss PSG’s next league match.

Messi was substituted off for PSG in their 2-1 win vs. Lyon with the substitution making noise around the football world. Mauricio Pochettino received a lot of criticism for taking Messi off but a report on Tuesday by the club, stated that Messi received a knock to the knee.

The statement read that Messi will undergo more tests in 48 hours, which would mean he is ruled out for their league match against Metz on Wednesday.
