Ángel Di María scored his first goal of the season in his first match back for PSG.

Di María, Agentina’s Copa America final hero scored a goal similar to the one he scored in that Copa final. Mauro Icardi was the only Argentine in the starting eleven as Ángel Di María was on the bench and Lionel Messi along with Leandro Paredes were left out of the squad.

While Icardi played 86 minutes, Di María was brought on for Mbappe with nine minutes left in the match. With the score at 3-2 for PSG, it was a counter attack that was started by Di María as he played a pass to Hakimi who returned the ball back to the Argentina and Di María’s first touch was the lob over the goalkeeper.

Grand Theft Auto presentation for Germán Pezzella as he rejoins Real Betis

Germán Pezzella has rejoined former club Real Betis as the club announced it in a unique way.

Pezzella, who initially joined Fiorentina on loan from Betis back in 2017, is back in Seville. Having eventually become captain of Fiorentina, Pezzella’s form found him in the Argentina squad for the 2021 Copa America where he would take part in the final when Argentina lifted the trophy.

Real Betis announced it in a two minute long video, featuring a cameo appearance by Guido Rodriguez. The video imitates the popular franchise video game Grand Theft Auto.

Agustin Marchesin to require surgery, out of Argentina team for September

Agustin Marchesin has injured his knee and will require surgery.

The FC Porto goalkeeper is expected to be out for about a month as he will undergo surgery to correct a problem in his meniscus, the club announced. The injury will mean that he will miss Argentina’s World Cup qualifying matches in September.

Agustin is the third choice goalkeeper for the Argentina national team and was expected to be selected for the next squad.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will announce in a few hours his team for September’s matches.

Dario Benedetto signs with La Liga club Elche on loan from Olympique Marseille

Dario Benedetto has signed with La Liga club Elche from Olympique Marseille.

Benedetto, who was heavily linked and rumored to be joining Real Betis, has ultimately joined Elche on a season long loan. He is now the fifth Argentine at the club as he joins Guido Carrillo, Lucas Boye, Pablo Piatti and Ivan Marcone.

Elche announced the transfer through their social media channels.

Rodrigo Palacio, at 39, joins Italian club Brescia

Rodrigo Palacio has joined Italian club Brescia.

The 39 year old will be continuing his playing career in Italy. After spending the past four years in Serie A with Bologna, the former Boca Juniors and Inter man will be playing in Italy’s second division.

Scoring five goals last season, Palacio managed to take part in 36 league matches for Bologna. He first made the jump to Italy from Boca Juniors when he joined Genoa back in 2009 before making the switch in 2012 to Inter.

Palacio was part of the 2014 World Cup squad which made the final.
