Lautaro Martinez could sign new Inter deal, talks Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona

Lautaro Martinez spoke about playing alongside Lionel Messi with Argentian and his failed move to Barcelona as he gets closer to signing a contract extension with Inter.

Martinez was constantly rumored to be joining Barcelona last year and Inter were even one of the team’s who were reportedly interested in signing Lionel Messi. Both transfers didn’t happen but Lautaro did comment about them. Speaking with FC Inter 1908 and translated by Sempre Inter, here’s what he had to say about Lionel Messi’s failed move to Inter last year:

“It would have been dream for me if he’d joined. Playing with him is great as Messi is the best player in the world. I am happy to be able to play with him in the national team.“We young people look up to and listen to him.”

Still only 23 years old, the Argentine spoke about the pressure that’s on him and his failed move to Barcelona:

“It’s hard to deal with. If I go out to eat somewhere, I hear people talking about me. The same happens when I go to the bathroom. I have to be very strong mentally.”

Inter CEO Marotta recently spoke to Dazn where he mentioned that the club is discussing with Lautaro Martinez to extend his contract with a decision in the coming months.

Angel Di Maria scored and assisted for PSG in their 3-0 win vs. Nimes as he also spoke about Lionel Messi possibly joining the team.

Di Maria scored his fourth goal of the season to give PSG the 1-0 lead. The Argentine got onto the end of a poor pass, ran towards goal and his effort opened the scoring for his fourth goal of the season.

Now 32 years of age, Di Maria also had an assist as he crossed the ball into the penalty area for Sarabia to score to give them the 2-0 lead.

He would also make headlines after the match as he was asked about Lionel Messi possibly leaving Barcelona and joining him with PSG. When asked about it by Canal+, here’s what he had to say:

“I hope so. There’s a big chance. We have to be calm and to let things develop.”

Facundo Medina scored for RC Lens in their 2-2 draw vs. Marseille.

Medina scored his second goal for Lens, which proved to be the equaliser. It was 2-1 Marseille as a cross was sent into the penalty area and Medina with a left footed flick shot beat the goalkeeper to draw RC Lens level.

Still only 21 years of age, the Argentine has been playing in a three man back line for his club. He has also been capped for the Argentina national team.

Marcos Rojo joins Boca Juniors on 3 year deal from Manchester United

Marcos Rojo has joined Boca Juniors, putting an end to his Manchester United career.

Rojo joined United after his memorable 2014 World Cup performance with Argentina. Joining for £16 million, Rojo played a total of 26 matches in his first season, 28 in his second and 41 matches in his third season at the club. Following his first three seasons, his number of matches would become less and less, playing a total of 27 matches in his final three seasons.

He joined former club Estudiantes on loan for the second half of last season and upon his return to England, it was clear that there was no place for him at United. During his time in Manchester, the Argentine won a Europa League, an FA Cup, an EFL Cup and a Community Shield.

The 30 year old joins Boca Juniors on a reported three year deal and has already been presented as a player.

Paulo Gazzaniga joins Elche from Tottenham

Paulo Gazzaniga has joined Elche on loan from Tottenham.

Gazzaniga has joined the Spanish club on loan until the end of the season as Tottenham announced the transfer Monday. Already 29 years old, the Argentine played 25 matches for the club last season but returned to being the back-up goalkeeper. His contract with Tottenham expires in June of next year.

Elche has let in 26 goals in 19 matches this season and are in 19th place in the standings, two points off 17th, which would keep them in La Liga. Gazzaniga has not played for Tottenham since their 3-2 loss vs. Wolves in March of last year.
