Argentina World Cup winner José Luis Brown passes away

Argentina World Cup winner José Luis “Tata” Brown has sadly passed away at the age of 62, on Monday.

News broke on Monday evening regarding his passing, with the official Argentina account tweeting it out as well as Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta sending his condolences. Brown scored the opening goal of the 1986 FIFA World Cup while also hurting his arm.

It was reported months ago that Brown was battling Alzheimer’s with his daughter stating last month that his condition had worsened.

Geronimo RULLI of Real Sociedad to have medical with Montpellier

Geronimo RULLI has been allowed to have a medical with Ligue 1 club Montpellier.

Real Sociedad have sent out an announcement stating that they are allowing goalkeeper Geronimo RULLI to fly to France and hold a medical with Montpellier. RULLI has been released from Sociedad’s final pre-season game against Eibar.

Still only 27 years old, the Argentina goalkeeper is set to complete his medical as well as agree to personal terms with Montpellier on Monday.

RULLI joined Sociedad back in 2014 after gaining recognition back at his home club Estudiantes de la Plata. RULLI was Sociedad’s starting goalkeeper for the two seasons which followed but poor form found him lose his starting spot last season.

Argentina win gold at Pan American games defeating Honduras

Argentina won the gold medal at the Pan American games in football as they won 4-1 against Honduras.

Fernando BATISTA’s team managed to win the entire tournament as the U23 team won the final. While star man Adolfo GAICH did not score, it was four different players who did.

Agustin URZI, Carlos VALENZUELA, Lucas NECUL and Fausto VERA got all four goals.

Sergio AGUERO misses penalty, retakes it, scores for Manchester City

Sergio AGUERO scored his first goal of the season for Manchester City in their 5-0 win against West Ham United.

Despite starting the game on the bench, AGUERO still managed to score but not without controversy. Manchester City’s all time leading goal scorer was brought on as a substitute and Pep GUARDIOLA’s team were awarded a penalty.

AGUERO took his penalty but had it saved. The referee called for VAR and found the goalkeeper was off his line before AGUERO took his shot. The penalty was taken again and this time the Argentina man made no mistake in dispatching and made it 4-0 for the visitors.

Manuel LANZINI started the match for West Ham while Nicolas OTAMENDI was an unused substitute.

Gio LO CELSO joins Tottenham Hotspur from Real Betis on loan

Giovani LO CELSO has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Real Betis on loan.

LO CELSO’s deal to Tottenham has officially been confirmed with the Argentine midfielder joining Mauricio POCHETTINO’s team on a season long loan deal with an option to buy. It has been rumored for the entire transfer window but Tottenham have finally got their player.
