Lionel MESSI continues to add to his scoring tally, this time scoring in FC Barcelona’s 3-1 win against Leganes.

The little magician started the match on the bench for the Catalan club. With the score at 1-1, coach VALVERDE brought on the Barcelona captain and MESSI did what MESSI does. A lovely dribble around a defender was followed by a shot which was saved by the goalkeeper. Luis SUAREZ pounced on it and gave Barcelona the 2-1 lead.

What soon followed was a thing of poetry. MESSI played a ball to Jordi ALBA, the left back played it to MESSI and Lionel fired it home with his right foot.

Goal scorer Maxi ROMERO also had his say on the match:

“We are happy with what we did. A lot of the things from training came out. There’s a lot of camaraderie within the group. We are happy with the performance. We have to get a good result against Ecuador.”

Manuel INSAURRALDE had this to say:

“It’s the first match and at times, the anxiety gets the better of you. We were superior but we didn’t get the result we were looking for.”
